To know, it is pacified by seeking the nature of the downfall. For those who do not remember the downfall, in order to make them remember, the Sangha, through the ritual of the four karmas, grants four months of time, allowing them to reside elsewhere, thereby recalling the downfall. Regarding the fourth dispute, it is actually pacified by granting actions that are in accordance with the karma, and all methods of pacification through indirect means are included. Regarding the promised pacification, in the absence of further disputes between the disputing parties, both the debater and the debated acknowledge the existence of a downfall, thereby entering the third method of pacifying disputes. Now, the meaning of conformity should be understood. For renunciants, whatever is not allowed, and the precepts that contradict what is conforming and allowed, are equally to be prohibited. For example, by prohibiting clothes with sleeves, things like Anrang are also prohibited. For what is allowed, one should accomplish what is conforming and not allowed, and what is contradictory. For example, it is allowed to actually give resources, and it is allowed to wear crescent shapes, etc., that do not contradict colors, etc. The conclusion of all recitations is "Venerable" and so on, the meaning of the words is mostly easy to understand. "What comes from elsewhere" refers to the Dharma of Nirvana that comes from other Vinayas, which is in accordance with the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment. Conduct such as walking is in accordance with the Vinaya. Agreement in view and wisdom. Joy with virtuous qualities. There is no dispute in discipline, view, livelihood, and rituals. Guarding the mind at all times with a single-pointed aim. Unforgettable mindfulness for virtuous actions. One should practice yoga with the diligence that makes one's own and others' continuums capable of becoming the work of enlightenment. Now, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat of the past, observe the Uposatha of the Sangha. The Vinaya is that, in the time of that teacher, although the afflictions of the Shravakas were few, in order to counteract those who do not cause suffering to the body and mind, but strive to practice the asceticism of the heretics (65N), and hope to obtain the result, the Buddha declared: Patience is the supreme asceticism, patience is the ultimate of Nirvana. Renunciation should not harm others, should not injure others, this is not the behavior of a Shramana. For the Shravakas with topknots, although other afflictions are few, there are many who strive to perform virtuous deeds in order to obtain the status of gods and humans, therefore, in order to counteract them, the eye

Those who have the ability, truly understand fearful things. In this world where the wise live, one should completely abandon sins. Thus it is said. The Hearers who protect all, although they have few other afflictions, greatly value their own discipline and are eager to slander non-Buddhists. One should not slander, one should not harm, one should guard individual liberation, one should know the measure of food, one should dwell in a remote place, one should correctly practice higher mind. This is the teaching of the Buddha. Thus it is said. The Hearers of the Cycle-Destroying, although they have few other afflictions, are attached to the offerings of villages, so as an antidote to that: Just as a bee does not harm the color and fragrance of a flower, but extracts the nectar and flies away, so the Able One walks in the village. Thus it is said. The Hearers of the Golden Able One's time, although they have few other afflictions (65b), greatly cling to their own learning and discipline, and as an antidote to slandering others: One should examine one's own lineage and non-lineage, but not the discord of others, and what others have done and not done. Thus it is said. The Hearers of Light-Preserving (Kasyapa), although they have few other afflictions, are attached to the taste of Samadhi, so as an antidote to that: One should be mindful of higher mind, one should learn the basis of the Able One's ability. With the peace of constant mindfulness, the protector is without sorrow, with generosity, merit increases, well-tamed, enemies etc. will not change. Those with virtue abandon sin, those with exhausted afflictions pass beyond sorrow. Thus it is said. The Hearers of our teacher, have many afflictions and commit various sins, but think that just a little virtue is enough, and their minds are distracted by desire and cannot remain in equanimity, so as an antidote to that: All sins should not be done, one should practice perfect virtue, tame one's own mind. This is the teaching of the Buddha. The discipline of the body is good, the discipline of speech is also good, the discipline of the mind is good, discipline is good in all places. The Bhikshu who is disciplined in all ways, is completely liberated from all suffering. Guarding speech, and well-taming the mind, the body does not (66a) do unwholesome deeds, if one well-trains these three paths of action, the Righteous One speaks.
