I prostrate to the precious root guru, the embodiment of all the fathers and sons of the ten directions and three times. Furthermore, the preliminary pure motivation, the main part of the non-objective luminosity, and the subsequent pure dedication, these three are like the eyes, heart, and feet for walking the path to enlightenment, so recite them with unwavering concentration. O, lords of generosity, keep this in your minds. As it is said in the scriptures: 'Accumulating merit brings happiness, therefore one should accumulate merit. Then again and again, one should desire it.' Therefore, regardless of wealth or poverty, it is important to accumulate merit to the best of one's ability. It is also important to dedicate and aspire that accumulation to unsurpassed enlightenment. The Teacher, the Buddha, said: 'The giver gives well, the receiver receives well, make offerings, dedicate. By doing so, one will enjoy an inexhaustible treasure.' The great teacher Padmasambhava also said: 'In the beginning, meditate diligently on impermanence. In the middle, take refuge and generate the mind of enlightenment with diligence. In the end, dedicate and make aspirations extensively.' The supreme accomplished one, Tilopa, said: 'Appearances are interdependent, if one does not realize that they are unborn, then the two accumulations are like the wheels of a cart, and if there is no result, it is a waste.' The venerable Wangchuk Mila Repa said: 'The meditator who lives in the mountains and the patron who provides sustenance, both have a connection to attain enlightenment together. The essence of interdependence is dedication, so be diligent in this dedication.' The incomparable Dagpo Rinpoche said: 'Although I accumulated merit in the past, because it was eroded by water in the middle, I have not yet attained enlightenment. This is because of not knowing how to dedicate. Therefore, be diligent in this dedication.' There are many such scriptural quotes. If one dedicates in this way, what benefit will one gain? In the Sutra Requested by Sagaramati, it says: 'Just as a drop of water falls into the ocean,'" } ] ============================================================
