Chapter Eleven. Chapter Eleven. The Victorious One (Buddha) first turned the Wheel of Dharma of the Four Noble Truths, in the middle turned the Wheel of Dharma of the gate of liberation, namely emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, the meaning of what was taught is: From form to all-knowing wisdom, all phenomena are of the nature of non-arising and non-ceasing, the essence to be revealed is: each individual's self-knowing awareness, which is the essence of the Sugata-garbha in the realm of all sentient beings. This is not produced by causes and conditions, but is naturally present, hence it is known as the Great Perfection. Where is it? The path of the Great Perfection, like the sky, is a vast and excellent path, proven to be the supreme meaning. All other Dharma teachings are merely adornments of the mind. Therefore, the Pratimoksha vows, the Bodhisattva vows, the Vidyadhara Mantrayana vows, the three vows, the six Paramitas, the generation stage and completion stage, etc., all the Dharma of the path are the foundation of the Great Perfection. Here, the phenomena of samsara and nirvana are: not moving from the Dharmadhatu, nor changing into anything else. Samsara and nirvana are not established as two, not moving from the ground Dharmadhatu, nor changing into anything else, the completely pure Dharmata is also complete with the three: essence emptiness, nature spontaneous, compassion unceasing. From this very nature, there are pure Buddhas and impure sentient beings, when they become parts of samsara and nirvana, like dreams that do not move in sleep. They do not come from anywhere, nor do they move to anywhere else. However, for the time being, the way the ground itself abides is established as a view of tenets, such as believing that the ground is primordially pure, or believing that the ground is spontaneously accomplished, or similarly believing that the ground is uncertain, believing that the ground is ultimately definite, believing that the ground is all-capable, believing that the ground is all-embracing, believing that the ground is diverse. All these seven grounds believe that the essence is primordially pure, and other schools that hold their own tenets by analyzing each aspect separately, are like seven blind men touching an elephant, the one who touches the eye says the elephant is like a bowl, the one who touches the nose says it is like a hook, the one who touches the ear says it is like a winnowing basket.

, touching the back feels like a saddle, and touching the tail feels like a thread, but none of these descriptions hit the mark. When asked about the color of a swan, it's like saying the color of a swan is a buzzing sound, none of it hits the mark. Here, if we explain the ultimate reality as it is, it is that the nature of reality is pure from the beginning. It is pure from the beginning and is the basis for both samsara and nirvana, possessing spontaneously accomplished qualities. These two are one from beginning to end, without any difference. The great expanse of primordial purity is free from all elaborations such as things and characteristics. Being clear and transparent, it spontaneously accomplishes because the basis for the manifestation of all samsara and nirvana is unobstructed. Although the essence is one, it is not contradictory in substance. For example, when falling asleep, the consciousness of the five senses ceases, and like the consciousness during sleep, the two are inseparable. The essence is pure and stainless from the beginning, so although it has not experienced samsara, from the spontaneously accomplished radiance or power, all kinds of good and bad appearances arise. For example, the self-radiance of a precious beryl is clear and transparent, not produced by conditions such as sunlight, so it does not appear externally, but its nature is inseparable from the beryl. Therefore, the radiance of primordial purity, free from things and characteristics, abides like the self-radiance of beryl appearing within. When spontaneously accomplished, without external cracks, abiding in the form of a youthful vase, the essence is emptiness, so things and characteristics are not established. Because the radiance is unobstructed, it abides as the basis for all appearances, which is excellent. That precious bodhicitta, whose essence does not move from emptiness, because things and characteristics are not established, it does not appear in the external world as if divided from one into two, but as the basis for all, it is neither the good called Buddha nor the bad called sentient beings. Because there are no things or characteristics, it is not one, nor is it other, because there is nothing to distinguish, and because there is no clinging to either end or middle, it is like imputing existence to what does not exist, and nothing more. Emptiness is not annihilation, like things going from existence to non-existence. It is not like an empty vessel or empty space where there is nothing at all. The very act of grasping at non-existence is the fault of non-realization. The good and bad of things
