The Order of One Hundred Torma Offerings, the Practice of the Unequalled Dharma Lord Lobsang Drakpa The Order of One Hundred Torma Offerings, the Practice of the Unequalled Dharma Lord Lobsang Drakpa The Order of One Hundred Torma Offerings, the Practice of the Unequalled Dharma Lord Lobsang Drakpa, is complete. Homage to the venerable Gurus! This method of offering one hundred tormas has three parts: the preliminary stages, the main ritual, and the concluding activities. The first part includes: the method of arranging the torma vessels, the order of the torma guests, the order of the food, and the method of offering the food. The method of arranging the vessels: the torma vessels should not be made of iron or leather, but of copper or precious materials. If these are not available, any material such as wood or clay is acceptable. Whatever the vessel, it should be thoroughly cleaned and polished. When arranging them, the rows should be neatly aligned on the torma stand, without any tilting or falling over, and the torma vessels should not touch each other. The method of arranging the essence: the torma offerings should not be impure substances such as alcohol, but well-prepared torma cakes made from pure, fine flour and enriched with the three white substances (milk, yogurt, butter). The best part of this should be set aside as food and offered to the deities. The rest should be divided into eleven portions, and each of the ten portions should be further divided into ten parts. The eleventh portion should be divided into eight parts. When arranging them, the cakes should not touch each other inside the torma vessels. Pure water, equal in number to the torma cakes, should be sprinkled on them, or boundaries should be drawn for each torma vessel. The order of the torma guests: According to the views of the venerable Gurus and spiritual friends, there are several different kinds of torma guests. However, the order of tormas composed by Bodhisattva Chandrakirti (Zla-ba rGyal-mtshan) is widely practiced by many holy beings, and because it is pure and easy to perform, we will follow it and state: Gurus, etc., Dakinis, etc., Sages, etc., Co-emergent, Landlords, Robbers, etc., Harmful ones, Six realms, Pretas, etc., Karmic debts, Remnants of beings, etc. The identification of these: Gurus, etc., the first is the first set of ten tormas. Offered to the Gurus, the Three Jewels, etc., and all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Dakinis, etc., is the second set of ten, offered to the Dakinis, Dharma Protectors,
