If you rely on bad people, even seeing the holy ones will give rise to doubt. Children bitten by dogs, even seeing mongooses, will be afraid and panic. Cunning people, because they do not know that they are being blamed, instead label honest and truthful people as "dumb." People with merit, if they go to other places, will be valued. Even if a cuckoo is born in Mon, its call is pleasant in the middle of Tibet. When young, being controlled by ignorance, even if mistakes have been made, now that you have reached youth, do not be controlled by debauchery and wives. Old age is a precursor to death, let alone generating renunciation. Treating children as servants in the house, and still wanting to live leisurely, is foolish. Although there are many enemies in the world, there is no fear like the Lord of Death. Thinking that you have fallen into the mouth of Yama, you must respectfully believe in the Dharma. If you do not take shame as a witness, and do not slightly consider the pros and cons, even if you are good at obtaining food and clothing, what is the difference between that and a fisherman? The weaker the evil person is, the more docile and gentle they are. When they become slightly stronger, they are like dried elephant skin. Garlic, even if coated with camphor, will not change its nature. Slightly because of circumstances, there are high and low, noble and base, one should stay away from people who are like scales. A king who listens to slander, ministers who are unjust, and concubines who like to gossip, these three are the stirring sticks that disrupt the state's administration. Although lions eat the flesh of wild animals, they only mate once a year. The people are the glory of the king, but if taxes are collected frequently, they will decline. Like a donkey, being greedy and insatiable, being secretly tormented by hungry, wicked servants who are never satisfied, such exploitation is not even as good as an oil press. A place that receives one-sixth of the tax is merely respected by the people, and if the laws are not enforced fairly, it is lending money to the people at high interest rates. Mountains are the burden of the earth, but they do not have the attitude of lowering their status. Those who bear the burden of ingratitude, how can the mighty earth bear it? People like to buy alcohol, and women like to eat secretly, both of which equally lead to the ruin of the family, desire is the only measure. Seeing the wealth of others, even if they generate very strong jealousy, they cannot obtain the slightest benefit from it, but instead exhaust their own merit.

Destroys (bad karma). Those who are bound by wealth and stinginess, due to hostility towards the place of offering and giving, the pretas who emit five kinds of sounds, their kind now arrive a lot. The bad words spoken from the mouth of the untamed, like a snake extending its tongue, cause disease to infect the hearts of others, which is difficult to cure even by a son who is skilled in medicine. If something harmful to oneself occurs, one should rely on the medicine of patience. Among the ascetic practices that do not cause youth to decline, patience is the most excellent. Even if a householder does not possess merits, he should diligently learn to have good thoughts. Like the wind helping the fire, in order to accumulate virtuous dharmas, good friends like beggars are rare. Do not speak of giving from the mouth of one who does not give. There is no treasury more excellent than giving, not even the food giving of the helpless. It is easy to find a wife and children, but it is very difficult to find parents. The merit of honoring one's parents is excellent, and in most cases, one can be liberated from the cliff of wrong views. If one is committed to harming others, what is the use of practicing celibacy? Holding honey with a blade, there is no nourishment, only harm to oneself. Seeking ways to conquer enemies becomes a gamble on life, and by restraining it, one can attain happiness. As long as one has not attained contentment and few desires, one will always be troubled by wealth. Haven't you heard of mice diligently accumulating, but eventually starving to death?

Didn't you see the fox catching the puppy? Whoever has compassion, surely has the seed of liberation. At all times, that is the one with lineage, just appearing to be a noble descendant on the surface. Even if possessing the seven precious jewels, one cannot take them along at the time of death. Those who attend to the seven noble riches, mostly attain the eight freedoms. Act according to the Dharma and subdue the senses, then attaining the state of Arhat is not far off. Even if dyed by the (righteous) Dharma, it is covered by sin, such a person is not a banner of liberation. The seven merits that increase from material things, are the rules for being able to accomplish practice. If, in the name of sacredness, one seeks glory in wealth, then it is very bad. Do not measure the noble ones with the self-experience of ordinary people. Wouldn't the old frog in the well laugh at the turtle? If one does not investigate all matters, even showing off is not being a hero. The swollen blood of a female cat is licked by a staggering old dog. If you are greedy for wealth, you should also fill the treasury with upright behavior. If you know how to use it well after filling it, you will gain the glory of protecting yourself and others. As long as you can see others, do your best to help others. This thought and action without deception makes your own affairs well organized. If the king does not protect the country, and the ministers are not good at strategies, how can one expect the country to prosper? One's own life cannot be saved either. An incompetent person is arrogant and self-important, the leader is greedy for pleasure and there are many admonishments, because of disagreements, like using a catapult, one's own regime collapses quickly. A mouse holding the key, a crow acting as a housekeeper, who does not know that this is a sign of the decline of the treasury? Therefore, the king, ministers, and subjects, all like vines clinging to trees, depend on each other, with an impartial mind, honestly handle the affairs within their own responsibilities. One can cut down fruit trees, but do not imitate the practices of charcoal burners. Even if the tax revenue is insufficient, one should also think carefully about the kindness of the grain. Honey and beehives, the moon (Tibetan calendar), the Dharma, and the king's wealth, because they increase with slight accumulation, so avoid waste like water droplets. The wrong view that obscures the ten non-virtuous actions, because killing arises from there, so even if you do not consider external decay, you should be afraid of a short life. Even if a peacock is tormented by fever,
