Ma. Meditations that are definitely in accordance with the aspect of discernment should focus on the Four Noble Truths. What are the four? They are the Four Noble Truths of suffering, origin, cessation, and path. The first is that the nature of the arising of the five aggregates of appropriation is the truth of suffering. The second is the craving that arises again, accompanied by attachment to joy, and the manifestation of joy in that and that. From this, all suffering arises, hence it is the origin, that is, it is shown as the cause of suffering. The third is that the cessation and complete pacification of that very craving is liberation. The fourth is the truth of the path that leads to the attainment of Nirvana, the Noble Eightfold Path, of which right view is wisdom without outflows. Right livelihood is abandoning the five wrong livelihoods, such as flattery. Right effort is to exert diligence. Right mindfulness is not forgetting the object. Right concentration is the fourth dhyana. Right speech is the four paths of virtuous action. Right action is the three natures of abandoning the non-virtuous paths of action of the body. Right thought is the absence of harmful thoughts and the thoughts of renunciation, and so on, of various kinds of thoughts. Similarly, higher morality is whatever is completely dedicated to Nirvana. Higher mind is the fourth dhyana, the basis of the Noble Path. Higher wisdom is in accordance with the aspect of discernment. Within these three trainings, there are more than one hundred and fifty trainings, and whoever strives to practice them is called the Noble Sangha. If this basis is applied to the Mahayana path, the Pratimoksha vows are merely abstaining from the root of harming others. The Bodhisattva vows are, in addition to this, the precepts of restraining from misdeeds, which include benefiting others. Accumulating all virtuous dharmas by accomplishing the six perfections is the precept of accumulating virtuous dharmas. Directly or indirectly, solely accomplishing the benefit of others is the precept of benefiting sentient beings, of which there are three types. Similarly, the Pratimoksha is encompassed by seven types of abandonment, with the body and speech being the main focus.

It does not include purposes for others. Bodhisattvas primarily focus on the ten abandonments, and because it includes abandoning for the sake of others, there is a difference in both the precepts and what should be learned. Similarly, in terms of results, Hearers and Solitary Realizers, in their causal stage, do not accumulate vast accumulations, so they only attain the path of their own liberation. Bodhisattvas, in their causal stage, strive for immeasurable accumulations of merit and wisdom, so they attain the three bodies when they attain the result. On top of that, having received the empowerment of mantra, one enters the three vows, like adding a father wall and a son wall to a wall. Therefore, both what should be learned and qualities become more extensive. If these contradict each other, then both the desire to prioritize the higher and the desire to prioritize the lower must avoid harm and benefit, and must be consistent with the meaning, that is, in the individual continuum, it should be determined according to the capacity, and if it contradicts, it is not allowed. If it is allowed, then there will be no contradiction, and it must not be confused with the meaning. Like this, the determination of the three vows should be examined by the Dharma of scripture. Whether it changes or not depends on the Dharma of realization in the individual's own continuum. In reality, those who verbally claim to have the three vows, but examine with a learning mind, and the two continuums that have achieved asceticism for the Dharma as it is, although they do not contradict in essence, they have extremely contradictory natures, and the nature must be the main focus. In general, the nature of the holy Dharma is that merit, path, and nirvana must be determined as the meaning to be expressed. For this, according to what is to be expressed and what can be expressed, it is divided into two kinds of holy Dharma, scripture and realization, as stated in the Ratnagotravibhāga: "The Buddha's holy Dharma has two kinds, namely scripture and the nature of realization." Among them, the Dharma of scripture is to enter the meaning of realization, so all complete speech is included. Among them, in the two kinds of expressions, worldly and transcendental, the former refers to the eight kinds of examinations and other statements that are in accordance with the Dharma of samsara, because these statements are well known. Here, in order to be in accordance with the world, the distinctions of the statements about the examination of the vessel and its contents are arranged first, as stated in the Śataśāstra: "If human customs are well practiced, the path to the heavenly realm is not far, the ladder of gods and humans."
