descended. Similarly, the thirteen golden Dharmas, the great and small protectors, etc., were transmitted from the Dharma Lord and venerable Lama to the Yarlungpas, and the oral instructions were passed down in a single lineage, etc., which are the manifestations of the great compassionate one, the crest jewel of the wise, the crown ornament of the accomplished, and the ocean of profound and vast instructions, personally received by the great self-master Vajradhara. Although the disciples who received the nectar of oral instructions from him are countless, the one to whom the uncommon oral transmission instructions were bestowed like pouring water from one vase to another was Jetsun Dorje Ringpa, Kunsang Chokyi Nyima Lodan Sherab Gyaltsen Pal Sangpo, who was born in succession between India and Tibet in the era of the complete Buddha Kalpa. This lord generally relied on Vajradhara, Kunga Sangpo and his sons, and seventy-two non-sectarian masters and accomplished beings of both the new and old traditions. In the ocean of Sutra and Tantra instructions, he cut off the doubts of reasoning. In particular, he served the lotus feet of the great self-master Vajradhara with the three kinds of pleasing actions, and listened to all the instructions of the four valid transmissions, represented by the precious oral instructions, and thoroughly contemplated them. Even the subtle practices were enlightened. In the secluded mountain recesses of Kha-u Drakdzong Nakpo and other places, he never spent his life away from the four-session yoga, so he attained the high level of accomplishment. He constantly proclaimed the sound of the profound and secret lion's roar, and spread the profound oral transmission instructions to the end of the world, thus establishing the lineage known as Jetsun Khaupa. Among the many disciples who came to him, the only heart-son was Tsarchen Chökyi Gyalpo Losal Gyatso. In the sacred land of India, he was the great accomplished Virupa, and in the snowy land of Tibet, he was the omniscient Buton Rinchen Drup, etc., of the time of strife, the garland of incarnations of scholars and accomplished beings, like a garland of Mandarava flowers, appeared in succession. Finally, in the land of Norzin near Mangkar Mugulung, the lotus of auspicious signs was first born, and from then on, the qualities of wisdom, discipline, and excellence naturally awakened. The Vajra Dharma protectors accomplished the activities through various manifestations. And clearly saw the three-seated Vajra Mandala, etc., along with many wonderful biographies and Dharma assemblies.

Having studied the tenets of logic at the great Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, he subdued the arrogance of all those who spoke of scripture and reason. Awakened by the prayers of previous lives, he took unwavering faith in the teachings of Jetsun Sakya and the accomplished Dorje Ringpa as his cause. With the aid of the explicit prophetic guidance of Vajrayogini, he traveled to the second Oddiyana in the snowy mountains, the black rock hermitage of Khau Drakdzong. He heard previously unheard teachings of the Sakya tradition, including the oral transmissions and the lineage of sublime masters, complete with the four valid means of cognition. He received countless profound and extensive instructions. Not content with merely hearing them, he meticulously examined even the subtlest practices, cutting through all doubts and uncertainties. Through meditation and practice, he manifested signs of warmth. He directly perceived the innate wisdom of reality. All appearances of phenomena arose as mandalas of deities. The Vajra protectors acted as if they were his servants. In particular, when he ascended the throne of the omniscient Buton Rinpoche, the Lord of Death, Yama, struck the crown of his head with the vajra of commitment, and discerning individuals were certain that this was Manjushri Yamantaka frolicking in a crimson dance. Furthermore, having relied on sixty-three non-sectarian holy beings, he received the transmission of all the profound instructions for accomplishing both common and supreme siddhis in the land of Tibet, becoming a second Vajradhara in this degenerate age. Residing in places such as Dhar Grangmo Che, Mangkar Thubten Gephel, and Chalung Dorje Drakdzong, he alternately engaged in teaching and practice, and composed about four volumes of writings. Thus, the lotus pond of scholars and accomplished ones flourished, and the sweet fragrance of his fame, like honey, naturally attracted a cloud-like gathering of fortunate holy beings, both his own and others. By generously bestowing the nectar of profound oral transmissions, countless disciples arose, enriched in their being through both scriptural understanding and realization. Among them, the foremost was the one who held the secret of the master's speech as it is, connected as father and son in many lifetimes, and in this life also known as Tsarchen Yabse, their names closely linked, and the only son of his heart, Gesarwa Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, born into the Lhari Azha family.
