The name of the author of the treatise. (And) an explanation of how it was translated from India to the Land of Snows. ༈. Namaḥ Sarasvatyai. (藏文,梵文天城体:नमः सरस्वत्यै,梵文罗马拟音:namaḥ sarasvatyai,汉语字面意思:Homage to Sarasvati) If one knows poetics, which is one of the five minor sciences, one will not be confused about poetry. To explain this stable treatise, there are two parts: explaining the "body" and explaining the "ornaments." The first part: Like this, if the meaning that the speaker wants to express is incorporated into a treatise, then it is a string of words with suffixes such as sups and tiṅs, in a way that the expression is well composed. If we classify it, there are three types. The first is: If the "body" is divided into four lines, and the speech that gathers in four lines is the characteristic of verse. If classified according to the way of composition, it can be divided into vṛtta and jāti. But in Tibetan, there is nothing other than counting the letters that correspond to vṛtta. In terms of the way of composition, there are four types: liberation, class, treasury, and aggregation. The second is: If the "body" is not divided by lines, the continuous speech with case endings. If classified, there are two types: statement and narration. These were considered different by the scholars of the past, but the glorious Daṇḍin has proved that they are not contradictory. The third is: If the "body" is verse and prose, or a mixture of different languages. If classified, there is "only," which refers to the mixture of verse and prose, and "drama," which refers to the mixture of all four languages. These three types of verse and prose mixtures exist in four forms: Sanskrit, natural, corrupted, and mixed. Sanskrit is the language of the gods. Natural refers to the birth of Sanskrit, as well as the three that are similar to it and have the languages of various regions. Corrupted refers to expressing its own meaning without relying on other poetry. It is said that when the all-pervading one (Vishnu) manifested as a cowherd in the past, he explained the Vedas in the language of that time. In the system of sound, everything other than Sanskrit is considered corrupted. Mixed refers to explaining by mixing the first three languages. Liberation refers to one śloka completely expressing one theme. Class refers to multiple ślokas completely expressing one theme. Treasury refers to being rich like a wealthy treasury with multiple themes, without being limited by ślokas, through the division of various verbs. Aggregation refers to one theme being expressed by the aggregation of multiple ślokas and many verbs, such as praise of dusk, etc.

Firstly, both the verses and verbs contain many and explain. These four are great poems, whose essence is stanzas, i.e., treatises bound by chapters or sections, because they are obtained incidentally, so they are only a part of it, not separate objects of knowledge and explanation, so they are not exemplified in the "Mirror of Poetry." The difference is: caste and collection are similar in that they are explained by many stanzas, but caste uses one verb, while collection uses many. Storage and collection are similar in that they have many verbs, but storage does not necessarily require many shlokas, while collection is necessary. Liberation is a verse that does not require pauses and verbs. The entry point for composing great poetry is these three: auspicious words, prostration, and definite indication of things. The way of writing is represented by praising cities, oceans, mountains, seasons, etc. Secondly, ornaments are of two kinds: common and uncommon. The first has ten kinds, the first of which is the merit of combination: just like the mother letter, through the thought of circumambulation and postposition, only small life letters gather together, so there are two views, namely, relaxation (relaxation) is the intention of the eastern Godaba, and relaxation (relaxation) is that the number of small life letters is large, and large life letters are also mixed in various ways, so the combination that does not touch relaxation (relaxation) is heavy, which is the way of the southern Vedanta. The second is extreme clarity: the expression of meanings that are completely famous and easy to understand in the world is the way of Vedanta, and the expression that is not very famous in the world, so it is like being unclear, is the way of Godaba. Equality: the combination of letters in the first and second halves is equal, which is the way of Vedanta, and the combination of letters like the third line is rough, while others are like being soft, which is the intention of Godaba. Pleasant: sometimes long, sometimes stacked, sometimes preposed, postposed, etc. are the same, which is the way of Vedanta, and the lines, words, and letters that both want have three kinds of postpositions with long circumambulation. The combination of the front and back lines is soft, rough, and equal, which is the postposition that only Godaba wants. Very young is: most are very soft, but there are also some rough letters mixed in, which is the Vedantapa, and all the rough letters are completely arranged together, which is the way of Godaba. The meaning is clear: the object of expression that can be understood without checking is the common intention of the South and East,
