The non-conceptual yoga is: From the state of severing all the elaborations of the previous three yogas, one meditates on all dharmas without conceptualizing them; this is merely called meditation. Since it is not meditating on elaborations of characterized objects, one does not look at, think of, contemplate, examine, or conceptualize any dharma. Instead, one single-pointedly abides in the effortless, vast, and free state. Second, the practice of the path of the five desirable qualities has five aspects. First, the eye is attached to and not averse to desirable forms; one does not generate disgust or purify the mind towards undesirable forms; and one does not remain in a neutral state. From the nature of these three, one ascertains the absence of inherent existence, the great seal (Mahamudra), the profound, clear, and inseparable state, and practices accordingly. Similarly, one should practice with sounds for the ear, smells for the nose, tastes for the tongue, and tactile sensations for the body. Each of these four should be practiced as before. Third, examining the interdependence of the measure of manifestation has two aspects: manifestation and the measure of exhaustion. First, the measure of manifestation is: When a yogi diligently engages in a continuous stream of yoga practice, unbearable and extraordinary phenomena arise in the body, speech, and mind, either in experience or in dreams. These include physical illnesses, mental confusion, and various appearances of gods and demons, as well as fears. Countless instances of gossip, disputes, quarrels, verbal abuse, and lawsuits also arise. One should not be afraid of these but should strive in practice. Second, the measure of exhaustion is: By taking gods and demons as the path, and by taking whatever adverse conditions and illnesses arise as helpers, one does not expect future results because the dry dharma that is taken as the direct path is cut off from the water. Since all obstacles and hindrances are enjoyed as accomplishments, the measure of exhaustion only gives rise to the aspiration of abandonment. Therefore, one sacrifices food, clothing, and speech. If one makes life and practice equal, then both aims will be spontaneously accomplished. Fourth, the blessings of the Great Sage are the exhaustive dharma of the instructions, so one should do as explained separately. Nowadays, the permission of the accomplished ones that arose from the Torma Tradition Ocean is being performed. This concludes the intermediate level of the practice instructions on the Sutra Cutting of the Great Conqueror, from among the nine profound instruction dharma cycles of the glorious Bo Dong Kagyu tradition, written by Panchen Lama.
