The glorious omniscient Bodongpa, the profound instruction manual of the Great Powerful One's Chöd from the nine profound teaching cycles of the great assembly, is called the Essence of Profound Meaning. The glorious omniscient Bodongpa, the profound instruction manual of the Great Powerful One's Chöd from the nine profound teaching cycles of the great assembly, is called the Essence of Profound Meaning. The glorious omniscient Bodongpa, from the nine profound teaching cycles of the great assembly, the instruction manual of the Great Powerful One's Chöd, called the Essence of Profound Meaning, resides herein. Namo Guru Shakyamunaye. I prostrate to the guru and the unequaled Powerful Sage, who are inseparable. Here, from the nine profound teaching cycles of the glorious Bodong Kagyu, the intermediate practice of the glorious Victorious Great Powerful One's Sutra Chöd has three parts: preliminaries, main practice, and concluding practice. First, the preliminaries have two parts: common preliminaries and uncommon preliminaries. First, the common preliminaries are: From the mouth of the son of the Victorious Ones, Thogme Zangpo Palwa: This life will be exhausted in an instant, and without the power to enjoy the accumulated possessions, suddenly, from among many, I, when I go alone, I am deceived by the desires of this life. Hair stands on end, excrement and urine flow downwards, complexion swells outwards, eyeballs sink inwards, aversion to food, thirst increases, the body is unable to support itself, and mental agitation arises. When such intense suffering is experienced, even a skilled doctor has no way to cure it, and even lavish offerings cannot reverse it, so what is the use of great affection from relatives and friends? With wide eyes, one looks at the faces of loved ones, with trembling hands, one clutches at one's own clothes, the thread of breath is about to break, and when one is seized by the terrifying Lord of Death, even a universal monarch cannot protect one. Even if one fills the three thousand worlds with wealth, it cannot be bribed. Thinking repeatedly about the meaning of these words and dividing these phrases into sections and reciting them often will turn the mind towards Dharma, and being endowed with renunciation and weariness will lead one onto the path of Dharma. Second, the uncommon preliminaries have three parts: refuge, bodhicitta, and guru yoga with supplications, which should be done according to the separate explanations.

Second, the main part has three: the illusory Samadhi, the heroic Samadhi, and the Vajra-like Samadhi. First, the illusory Samadhi: With the generation of Bodhicitta as the preliminary, the posture of the body should have the three qualities of the Vajra posture, pressing down on the ground, and being straight, without any movement. The phenomena encompassed by appearance and sound are of the nature of dream and illusion. Because they cannot be trusted, their essence is free from all characteristics. This naked, stainless awareness, without any basis, is placed in a state of emptiness and non-objectification. Recite the forceful "Phat (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:断)" three times and then settle into Samadhi. In the post-meditation period, practice in the same way. Second: The heroic Samadhi: The yogi who has gained certainty in the above practice, like a hero going to battle, without fear or hesitation in terrifying places and empty spaces, recites "Phat (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:断)" with a fearless and overwhelming attitude. Visualize oneself as the red, naked Vajrayogini, adorned with bone ornaments, holding a curved knife and skull cup as large as Mount Meru, pressing all the gods, demons, eight classes of beings, local deities, and elementals under one's feet with the dance of the Vajra. Imagine that they all utter cries of suffering and that their body, speech, and mind are reduced to dust. Then, forcefully recite "Phat (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:断)" three times, visualizing the four continents and Mount Meru, including that terrifying place, being crushed by rain. While maintaining the posture of sitting cross-legged and pressing down on the ground, visualize one's own body as the venerable mother, clear with the three channels and four chakras. At the lower end of the central channel, four fingers below the navel, the essence of one's body, speech, and mind is a clear, indestructible bindu, the size of a bird's egg, white and radiant, oily and round, in a state of throbbing and about to fly. Without letting awareness wander elsewhere, focus on it. Recite one forceful "Phat (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:断)", and all the essence of the lower part of the body gathers into that bindu. Recite "Phat (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:断)" again, and that bindu reaches the Brahma aperture like an arrow shot upwards by a strong man. All the essence below that gathers into the bindu. Recite "Phat (藏文:ཕཊ,梵文天城体:फट,梵文罗马拟音:phaṭ,汉语字面意思:断)" again, and the bindu shoots out from the Brahma aperture, gradually thinning and dissolving into the expanse of the sky, the sky and the essence of body, speech, and mind
