Therefore, one relies on the aspect of self-luminous nature and enhances it. Second, proving that mind's appearance is illusory: The external object of grasping is an illusory appearance tainted by the delusion of the grasping mind. Just as the object of grasping is not established, so too the grasping mind is not established. Thus, it is determined by scripture and example, and one relies on the aspect of self-empty nature and enhances it. However, even if one realizes that the aspect of grasping and being grasped is unreal, since there is the grasping of clarity and emptiness other than those two as real, it is similar to the view of the mere-mind's completely false. Third, proving that illusion is without self-nature: Even if all grasping and being grasped are unreal, one might wonder if something else is truly established from that. To this, showing that it is also without self-nature is divided into two: proving it through dependent origination and proving it through inexpressibility. The first is: All compounded things are not truly established by the key point of dependent origination. Uncompounded things are also established in dependence on compounded things, or uncompounded things are established on the aspect of the true emptiness of compounded things. Apart from that, no truly established thing is found. As Nagarjuna said: If the compounded is not established, how can the uncompounded be established? Thus, by means of dependent origination, proving that all phenomena are without self-nature through scripture and example, realizing the wonderful Middle Way that is free from the extremes of permanence and annihilation, is called the view that is equal to the Perfection of Wisdom. Thus, cutting off the imputations of hearing and thinking, and experiencing the true emptiness experienced through meditation in union with the innate clear mind, is the inseparability of samsara and nirvana. The second is: Having practiced in this way, external appearances are mind, mind is illusion, and illusion is determined to be dependent origination. Thus, one experiences that phenomena that seem contradictory are not contradictory, and certainty arises. Since the nature of that which arises is inexpressible, it is merely labeled as inexpressible. Therefore, even though one's own essence is inexpressible, one understands the meaning of the inseparability of clarity and emptiness through the guru's instructions and the means of scripture and reasoning, and by dissolving into the inconceivable realm, the uncultivated nature is manifested, and relying on the great vision that has not been seen, one realizes the unconfined nature of reality.

Having been liberated from the ground, although there is no Buddhahood in the ultimate sense, through the power of conventional aspirations and compassion, the manner of attaining Buddhahood is shown, thereby ripening beings. In this context, the four common and four uncommon examples, totaling eight, are taught. Relying on the former, one realizes that external appearances are mind, mind is like illusion, and illusion is merely without inherent existence. By merely abandoning the first object to be abandoned, the poison of ignorance, but without abandoning the root of samsara, the poison of continuous conceptual fabrication, it is called the poisonous view of the causal stage. It is to establish the mere realization of objects as the view. The latter examples, and the wisdom arising from empowerment and the two stages, are able to remove the poison of continuous conceptual fabrication, so it is called the non-poisonous view of the path stage. Because it is able to symbolize the wisdom of meaning, it is also called the wisdom of example. This is to establish experiential samadhi as the view. Having practiced in this way, the mind does not stray into the expanse of delusion, but whatever appears arises as the play of wisdom. Even if deluded appearances arise, like sunlight melting ice, through the mindfulness of the view, all deluded appearances are transformed into wisdom. This is the uncommon characteristic. In short, to acknowledge appearances as mind in conventional terms is the intention of the lineage and accomplished great masters. Merely proving its non-existence becomes the emptiness of analyzing the aggregates, which is without essence. Therefore, to introduce the inexpressible co-emergent wisdom is the supreme uncommon characteristic. Manjushri said, "The emptiness of analyzing the aggregates is..." etc., which also refers to this meaning. The classification of view and meditation according to the tenets of glorious Sakya is briefly summarized, Shubham! The seed of words and meanings, showing without error the classification of views held by the venerable Sakya fathers and sons.
