An experience arises as if seeing it directly. That is the supreme uninterrupted Samadhi. At that time, although the co-emergent ignorance is not purified, the manifest appearance of grasping and perceived objects arising from it, mostly purified, the clear light arises, and the path of seeing is easily accomplished without interruption. Again, with effort, the basis of elaboration of the two, grasper and grasped, the habitual tendencies of co-emergent ignorance, although not purified, what has manifested is purified. The wisdom of self-awareness and self-illumination is seen nakedly and clearly, and light and wisdom arise. The manifest illusions of appearance, increase, and attainment disappear. As an antidote to that, the clear appearances of appearance, increase, and attainment arise in sequence. After that, the gross manifest appearance of co-emergent ignorance also disappears, which is the time of the great clear light, the supreme of the world. At the end of such meditation, one part of the co-emergent ignorance, together with its habitual tendencies, is seen to be purified, which is the first ground. From then on, gradually, as each part of the obscuring ignorance of the ten grounds is purified, the clear appearance becomes greater and greater. At the time of attaining Buddhahood on the eleventh ground, one directly sees the dual-purity clear light that transcends the realm of mind. Second, introducing and practicing the wisdom Mahamudra taught in the context of the three continuums, which has four aspects: First, searching for the ground mind that elicits experience; second, introducing it as the union of clarity and emptiness; third, establishing it as the innate co-emergent wisdom itself; and finally, cultivating its meaning through meditation. First, turn the mind inward and examine carefully and analyze where one's mind is, what its color and shape are, and so on. Second, although certainty cannot be found by examining in this way, in terms of convention, recognize that the mind is merely clear awareness and not annihilation. When a slight spontaneous experience arises from within, clarity is said to be the characteristic of mind, which is the realization of one-third of the qualities of mind. By examining its essence, when one gains certainty that it is emptiness, free from arising, ceasing, and abiding, emptiness is said to be the nature of mind, which is the realization of one-third of the qualities of mind. When experiencing this realization, it is not an emptiness of nothingness, but a clarity that can manifest anything.

Where does it reside? By looking at its essence, no nature can be grasped, so it is determined to be emptiness. These two are also not separate, being empty while being clear. The nature of mind is emptiness, and the movement of the one who seeks emptiness is clear. When it is clear, it is empty. From the state of emptiness, clarity arises naturally, and being certain that this is the union of clarity and emptiness is called stabilizing in union. If a genuine experience that is more than just understanding arises from this, then all appearances will manifest as the play of samsara and nirvana being inseparable. And one will fully realize that this unfabricated essence of mind is the complete quality of the union of clarity and emptiness. The third is, introducing the innate wisdom that is coemergent, that wisdom is not identified with this ordinary mind that we usually think of, nor with the mind of deluded appearances, but is placed in the infallible union of clarity and emptiness of the ground state. To this, in the sutras and tantras, various names are given such as the Sugata-garbha, the pure mind, the mind of self-luminous light, the vajra of mind, and it is also called the alaya-substrate cause. The coemergent deluded mind that appears in one's own continuum is the adventitious samsara to be purified. So, what is it like? If one thinks like this, the nature of the adventitious samsaric mind is also it. Although they have been together since beginningless time, the coemergent wisdom that was not previously recognized is nirvana. Although these two are separately clung to as different things, they cannot be distinguished in terms of essence, this is called the view of the ground-time inseparability of samsara and nirvana. And, placing the wisdom that recognizes it, the wisdom free from grasping and the grasped, equally in the clarity-emptiness union of one's own mind, this is also considered the view of the path-time inseparability of samsara and nirvana. The fourth is, it is necessary to rely on and enhance through the three key points. First, establishing external appearances as mind is to ascertain through scriptural and logical proofs that all these external appearances are illusions arising from the disturbance of one's own mind's habitual tendencies, and are not truly existent. By meditating in this way, a definite understanding arises that establishes external appearances as mind, and without allowing clinging to enter into the view, one maintains clarity without contamination. Therefore, because one realizes that external things are not truly existent, this is similar to the view of false appearance of the Mind-Only school.
