Merely hearing the name eliminates the suffering of the lower realms! To the body, speech, mind, qualities, and activities of that Victorious One, I prostrate with reverence in the three doors, and take refuge from the depths of my heart! May this deity empowerment, "Liberation Through Hearing," spread here! Samaya. For this, the order of preparing the requisites is as follows: The characteristics of the mandala should be done as described elsewhere. Arrange the mandala beautifully with piles of grain. The torma for the practice should be like a blazing jewel. Arrange it and surround it with the five sensory offerings. In the center, a vase; to the east, a torma; to the south, a body representation; to the west, a mala of mantras; to the north, a man-shel (a type of gem); at the edge, tsakalis (small clay images). Gather the empowerment substances and implements, and enjoy your own seat. As the preliminary and main practices are performed according to the text, at the moment when the place is invoked and the body, speech, and mind empowerments are completed, offer a mandala to the deities of the mandala and the Vajra Master, and recite this supplication: Kye Kye! All-pervading Lord of all lineages, Vajradhara! The deity empowerment of Gyalwa Odchen Tongbar, "Liberation Through Hearing"! At this time, I request that you grant it to me! (Repeat three times.) Then, the Master gives the reply: Aho! Fortunate son of a knowledge-holder! Possessing the karmic connections accumulated in the past! The empowerments of the deities of the mandala and the Master! I shall bestow them all upon you! Then, the Vajra Master, with the intention of bestowing the empowerment of the deities of the mandala with the three supports complete, the Wisdom Goddesses bestow the empowerment, the heroes and heroines of the empowerment site proclaim auspiciousness, the wrathful deities and wrathful goddesses of karmic power dispel obstacles, and with a fierce demeanor and the sound of HUM, believe that they are bestowing the empowerment. Then, on the body representation of Gyalwa Odchen Tongbar: Ho! Fortunate sons of the lineage! By bestowing the empowerment of Gyalwa Odchen Tongbar, "Liberation Through Hearing" merely by hearing the name, may the conceptualizations of the alaya be self-liberated, and the Dharmakaya be vast.
