Nana. Manifesting as the light of awareness-wisdom is Vairochana. Its unchanging essence is Akshobhya. With the increasing light, it is Ratnasambhava. The immeasurable light is Amitabha. Effortlessly and spontaneously perfected is Amoghasiddhi, thus one sees the faces of the Buddhas of the five families. Clarity without clinging is the path, and perfecting familiarity is attaining the result. As stated in the tantra: "One's own awareness-skill arises as the five bodies. Vairochana, Akshobhya, Ratnasambhava manifest. Amitabha and Amoghasiddhi manifest." Thus it is. The five wisdoms are: From before the separation of samsara and nirvana, the nature of awareness-wisdom is stainless and luminous, which is the mirror-like wisdom. The essence of luminosity is inseparable, which is the wisdom of equality. Distinct and clear without mixing, which is the discriminating wisdom. Effortlessly and spontaneously accomplished, which is the accomplishing wisdom. Primordially empty and rootless, which is the wisdom of dharmadhatu, these are the self-natures of the five wisdoms. The meaning of luminosity is being undistracted and relaxed, appearance without bias, clear appearance without clinging, without difficulty, and abiding in a state of neither meditating nor not meditating is the path. Its perfection is the result. As stated in the root tantra: "Mirror-like, equality, discriminating, accomplishing, and dharmadhatu wisdoms." Thus it is. The five families are: The essence of great luminosity and emptiness is unchanging, hence the vajra family. Qualities are perfectly complete, hence the ratna family. Appearance is unstained by faults, hence the padma family. Those familiarizations are accomplished without remainder, hence the karma family. This itself is the footprint of all Buddhas, hence the tathagata family. Familiarizing oneself with that state is the path, and its perfection is the result. As stated in Rangshar: "The tathagata family and, the vajra family and the ratna family, the padma family and the karma family." Thus it is. The five lights are: Those luminosities are stainless, hence white. Qualities are complete, hence yellow. Effortlessly abiding, hence red. Activity and skill are complete, hence green. Unchanging and stable, hence blue, thus abiding in five lights. Abiding in that state is the path, and its perfection is the result. As stated in the tantra: "The qualities of awareness are clear as five lights." Thus it is. The five winds are: This appearance of luminosity is inseparable from the warmth of wisdom, hence it is the wind that is the same as fire. Holding the life of samsara and nirvana

The wind that holds the life of the earth. The wind that separates samsara and nirvana, pure and impure. The wind that spreads evenly to all, the pervasive wind. The five winds, including the merciless Kalpa wind that cuts off the life of samsara and causes one to pass into sorrowless state. Familiarity is the path, and completion is the fruit. From Rangshar: Awareness is in the nature of the five winds. It dwells in all sentient beings. The five wisdoms are: The discriminating wisdom that separates samsara and nirvana from the realization or non-realization of the nature of clear light. The gathering wisdom that gathers the appearances of the power of wisdom. The pervasive wisdom that pervades all. The moving wisdom that includes the coming and going of clear appearances. If one realizes that, it is the liberating wisdom that liberates from samsara, abiding in five. That which is familiar and complete is the path and the fruit. It says in that very text: That also, in the essence of awareness, is endowed with five aspects of wisdom. The five Dakinis are: Seeing the faces of the five Buddhas, such as Buddha Ḍākki, because of the appearance of five lights, such as clear blue light. The five afflictions, such as delusion, are eliminated. They touch the five wisdoms, such as the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu. All of that is the basis. Familiarity with each is the path. Completion is the fruit. It says in the Tantra: The wisdom of empty-clear awareness dwells in the five aspects of Dakinis. Thus it is said. In this way, the five groups are also taught together. It says in that very Tantra: From the self-arisen power of self-arising awareness, the five bodies and the five wisdoms, the five families, the five lights, the five winds, abide in the five wisdoms and so forth. In short, the dharmata that abides in that way is not a mental construct fabricated by the mind, nor is it the empty form that arises from the interdependence of holding and exerting the root and wind energies, nor is it a mental image examined by perception and attention. Rather, it is seen as the nature of appearance and experience that has been established from the beginning, the nature of unmistakable direct perception. That is also the nature of space, the wisdom that is the uncompounded empty-clear that is pure from the beginning. The appearance of the nature of awareness, the dharmata, the great clear light, is the means. It abides in the state of indivisibility of appearance and emptiness, spontaneously accomplished from the beginning. That appearance is also not a created, impermanent phenomenon of samsara, but the ultimate, uncreated, unchanging reality of dharmata. These clear lights of appearance are like illusions of the world.
