To settle oneself into the uncorrected nature is called settling into one's own state. How to settle the three doors? The Transcending Transformation says, "At this time, the key points of body, speech, and mind, the yogi should settle." The After Passing says, "Then the three, body, speech, and mind, should be skilled in settling." Therefore, the key point of the body is to not accept or reject good or bad, and the mind should be in whatever posture is comfortable, such as cross-legged, squatting, or lying down, without moving or acting, like a corpse in a charnel ground. Speech should be settled in its own state, in the nature of being free from speaking, without even adjusting the flow of the life-sustaining wind, like a mute person. The mind should abandon the elaborations of good, bad, and neutral, and be freed from thoughts and distractions, settling like a cloudless sky. As the Extensive and Intermediate Perfection of Wisdom Sutras say, "To practice yoga on the Perfection of Wisdom is to practice yoga on the sky." The meaning is the same. Thus, by possessing the yoga of no action and no doing, the three doors are settled in their own state without alteration. For example, just as muddy water becomes clear when left undisturbed, it is similar to the saying, "If water is not muddied, it is clear; if the mind is not fabricated, it is clear." The teaching of the benefits is, The Clear Expanse says, "Whoever settles in this way, the disturbances of the elements, diseases, and adverse conditions are pacified, and clinging is self-liberated." Thus, by settling for twenty-one days, seven days, or three days, etc., the signs of temporarily settling are that the body remains still, the speech does not desire to speak, and the mind does not engage in worldly affairs. The elements and nature are not disturbed, diseases and adverse conditions do not arise, and one abides in non-conceptual meditation with self-luminous clarity. Ultimately, the clinging of the three doors will be self-liberated into purity. Placing back in its original state. Secondly, placing back in its original state also includes: what needs to be placed back, how to place it back, and the three benefits. First, it is taught that the three doors must be placed back in their original state. The Clear Expanse says, "In order to realize the meaning of primordial purity, after settling, also place back." As before, after settling, gradually place the three doors back on the correct path, so that one can realize the meaning of primordial purity, free from elaborations.

For this reason, it is necessary to restore the original state. There are two ways to restore the original state: common and specific. The common one is, as stated in 'After Death': 'The Shravaka, Bodhisattva, and Wrathful One, Through their respective views, restore the original. This enables the three to regain their original state, And diligently strive in practice.' This means that abiding in the natural state of mind, which is clear and non-conceptual, one gradually guides and habituates oneself through peaceful, intermediate, and wrathful conduct. The specific one is, as stated in 'Space of Clarity': 'The Shravaka's view of peace, Body, speech, and mind all abide in stillness. The Bodhisattva's view, Abiding, one attains bliss. The Wrathful One's view, Abiding, the three qualities are also accomplished.' Therefore, the Shravaka's view of peace is: By possessing the seven-point posture, one does not rejoice or resent whatever arising sensations and thoughts occur, nor does one fabricate or modify them, but leaves them in their natural state, so that the appearance of conditions is clear in its own nature, yet one does not lose the state of non-conceptuality. By this, the three doors naturally abide in stillness, causing what does not abide to abide, and pacifying subtle thoughts. The Bodhisattva's view is: The bodily posture is as before, the eyes look straight ahead, gazing loosely at the space about the width of a yoke in front, without opening or closing them too much. Through this condition, awareness arises momentarily, clearly and without obstruction, and from the moment it arises, one recognizes that its nature is not inherently existent. By this, most coarse thoughts cease, and the three doors remain in their natural, uncorrected state, thereby attaining bliss and stabilizing it. The Wrathful One's view is: Without losing the state of meditation, one stands up and takes haphazard steps, walking with exaggerated strides, glaring and rolling the eyes, looking upwards into space, uttering the wrathful laughter of 'Ha! Ha!' and the lamenting cry of the wrathful female 'Hi! Hi!', concentrating the mind, and diligently practicing the conduct of collapsing the false cave of appearances, and recognizing that there is no cessation, natural arising, no elaboration, and no acceptance or rejection. By this, extremely coarse thoughts are destroyed, and stable thoughts are ultimately completed and liberated. By practicing in this way repeatedly, the sign of the three doors regaining their original state is that body, speech, and mind become inseparable from virtuous actions. The qualities are, as stated in 'Space of Clarity': 'The experienced one realizes the meaning of primordial purity,' meaning that one temporarily attains bliss, clarity, and non-thought.

Having generated the extraordinary Śamatha (calm abiding) possessing the qualities of what kind, and ultimately realizing the meaning of primordial purity Vipassanā (insight), Śamatha suppresses suffering and afflictions, and Vipassanā destroys the gross sufferings and afflictions, causing the three doors to flawlessly enter into their own original good path. Thus, through the uncommon preliminaries, having gone through the stages of establishing the true nature. The Uncommon Preliminaries.
