Even if one kills a female animal, beings will be born in the Reviving Hell. If one has taken vows, even if one transgresses a minor offense, it is said that one must experience the suffering of that day. It is said that one day there is nine million human years. Likewise, if one believes, there will be no time to be attached to all the happiness of kingship. How many times have we experienced and been deceived before? Even if we get it now, being deceived is the nature of things. Not being overcome by hatred is: Even if I am burned and killed, Even if my head falls off, In any way, I will not bow down to the Enemy of afflictions. In the manner of what was said, even if one is killed by opening the life-hole or cutting the back of the neck, one should not open the door of hatred, and even small sins should not be allowed to enter. This is human suffering. If one transgresses the Dharma because of this, the killing by the hell guards and others will not cease. Not being overcome by fear is: Geshe Potowa said, "May all beings of Jambudvipa become wheel-turning kings who rule over the three continents." In the Sutra of Utterly Peaceful Determination of Miraculous Transformations, it says: "May all beings as numerous as the dust particles of all realms of the world become wheel-turning kings who rule over Jambudvipa. All those great lords gather together and threaten, 'If you do not commit this small sin, we will cut off five ounces of flesh and nails every day to kill you,' but even then they do not transgress the small sin. If one believes in karma, human life will be prolonged, and even if they cut off flesh and nails, they will not die, and one must experience suffering, but there is not even a preparation for one day of the Reviving Hell. If one transgresses sin out of fear, the weapons of the hell beings cutting and the beating of the hell guards will not cease. We will not have such great intimidation here; just for the sake of the benefit of a little bit of difference between a piece of tsampa or tea dregs, we transgress the Dharma out of desire and transgress all major and minor sins. Just because of the good or bad look in the eyes and the high or low tone of words, we say, 'You insulted me,' and then we transgress the Dharma out of hatred and transgress sins and quarrel. Just because of the fear of being scolded by a lama or a high official

Speaking many lies and belittling sins. The reason for not straying from the Dharma due to ignorance is that if one believes in karma, one will not merely think that non-virtue brings suffering. Rather, one must understand that various kinds of suffering arise from the various categories of non-virtue, and thus not belittle even minor sins. For example, if one hears that there is a bottomless pit of fire in this direction, one will open one's eyes wide and carefully observe, determine where it is, and then avoid falling into it. Instead of saying one doesn't know where it is, and it doesn't matter even if one falls in. Similarly, if one does not understand karma, one will belittle sins in ignorance. Even on an ordinary small cliff, one must be careful. What need is there to mention falling into a long cliff of a thousand yojanas? Like this, even if one falls before, it is only an ordinary cliff. If one belittles sins, one will fall into cliffs such as the hells of sentient beings. Most of us stray from the Dharma because we do not have time to distinguish between what is reasonable and unreasonable, and we are confused about the definition of good and evil. Therefore, even if one believes in karma and does not belittle sins, even if one attains a good rebirth, its essence is still suffering, and even if there is a little happiness, it is illusory. If one does not attain liberation, one will still fall into the lower realms, so even if one attains the position of a god at the peak of existence, it is no different from being in a copper pot in hell. Therefore, one must recognize that the nature of all samsara is suffering, and that the cause of suffering is the two, karma and afflictions, that exist on their respective bases. Thus, one should generate the thought of not desiring the three realms of samsara even in a dream, or like escaping from the prison of a man-eating rakshasa, or like a bird in a burned forest or a frozen lake, generate the thought that samsara is not a place to stay. In action, one should strive diligently to end samsara as if putting out a fire that suddenly burns one's head or clothes, and when one reaches this level, it is the time to generate the vows of renunciation, and therefore one renounces. The fear of samsara thus increases even more. Because one recognizes that its root cause is only desire, one should be afraid of merely driving away all internal and external desires, just as one would be afraid of holding a black snake that spreads poison quickly in one's arms.
