བར་བྱ་བའི་མན་ངག (bar bya ba'i man ngag) 中观之口诀。

Collected Teachings of Gampopa GM22: Instructions Clarifying Mahamudra 1-21-1a (ཞ). Words of Dharma Lord Dakpo Lhaje Instructions Clarifying Mahamudra A Concise Summary of the Ultimate Mahamudra Instructions Clarifying Mahamudra 1-21-1b In Sanskrit: Prakarasama Upadesha Mahamudra In Tibetan: ཕྱག་རྒྱ་ཉོན་མོངས་པ་དང་ཤེས་བྱའི་སྒོ་ནས་ལྷན་སྐྱེས། (chak gya nyon mong pa dang shes bya'i sgo nas lhan skyes) Mahamudra, co-emergent from the gates of afflictions and knowledge. ཆེན་པོ་རབ་ཏུ་གསལ་གཞི་མ་བཅོས་པ། (chen po rab tu gsal gzhi ma bcos pa) Great, exceedingly clear, the basis is unconditioned. བར་བྱ་བའི་མན་ངག (bar bya ba'i man ngag) Instructions for the Middle Way. Homage to all Buddhas! Outer and inner and the very first, all is Mahamudra. In the realm of co-emergent Mahamudra, in the nature of reality itself. Without characteristics, the nature of mind is without inherent existence, how could there be fabrication? All phenomena, the three realms, are all Dharmakaya, without conceptual speculation. Habituated to co-emergent Mahamudra, in the nature of reality itself. No appearance is Mahamudra. 1-21-2a If one rests in the unconditioned awareness, that is meditation. Inconceivable is Dharmakaya. If one rests in the realm of uncontrived purity, that is practice. Looking directly at its essence, there is no difference. At this very moment, one should know there is no dualistic conceptualization. By habituating to the co-emergent appearance in this way, one realizes phenomena and emptiness. Realizing that there is no simultaneous or sequential, that is purity. For example, like a person one has known before. Upon seeing them, one recognizes them without change, just like recognizing an old acquaintance. The appearances of the mind, all kinds of thoughts. Realizing that phenomena appear as many, is also the appearance of Dharmakaya. Realizing that emptiness is inseparable, like snow falling into the ocean. As soon as it falls, it turns into water, realizing no self-nature, no birth, in the realm of co-emergence, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana are realized as one taste. Likewise, all external objects of the six consciousnesses are unborn, like an illusion. One should know, one should realize. Relying on the continuous stream of awareness, phenomena themselves. 1-21-2b Their essence is emptiness, like the reflection of the moon in the ocean. Experiencing the nature of mind, in the unborn. Habituating without fabrication, that is practice. Practicing without time, the term 'practice' is merely a designation. Whatever appears as designation is without self-nature, that is unborn. If one clings to focusing the mind, etc., there is no meditation. If one meditates in segments, there is no meditation. Whatever appears is meditation. If one separates from self-knowing and self-illuminating awareness, there is no meditation. Do not interrupt the continuity. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to meditate now? By realizing the nature of mind, Enlightenment is not to be sought elsewhere. However, those who are ignorant, lacking merit and karmic connection, Think in this way: Merely meditating on the Dharmakaya (chos sku), even without coemergent wisdom and subsequent wisdom, Some childish beings, with a confused nature, Think there are coemergent wisdom and subsequent wisdom, which is wrong. Recognizing that the nature of samsara is unborn, there is no liberation and omniscience other than that. Nirvana is not elsewhere, no need to seek, whatever happiness and suffering, etc., Whatever appears, if one realizes it oneself, that is the realm of Dharmata. Whatever appears is the nature of reality. In the realm of the five senses, All appearances are non-dual. The three realms are originally Buddha. Samsara is originally Nirvana. Sentient beings are originally Buddha. Afflictions are originally Bodhi. However, because of not realizing it from the beginning, The beings of the three realms are in samsara. To turn away from samsara, One needs the precious instructions of the Lama. Until the Lama shows it, Like a treasure of a poor man, Even if one has it, it is of no benefit. Therefore, the Lama's instructions are precious. Having realized these, put them into practice. Conventional truth and ultimate truth are inseparable, It is the nature of the Dharmakaya. It is the ultimate intention of the Buddha. This is the ultimate essence of Mahamudra (phyag rgya chen po). The Lama said: If one cannot realize in this way, there is no way to be liberated from samsara. By recognizing this, recognizing it, and practicing it through familiarity. It is crucial to make a decision through view. Namo Guru! Self-knowing, self-illuminating, abiding in itself. Like a lamp inside a vase. Awareness abides in self-illumination. Only when expressing in words, It is named 'Clear Light' ('od gsal). It is named 'Bliss-Emptiness' (bde stong). It is named 'Awareness-Emptiness' (rig stong). It is named 'Appearance-Emptiness' (snang stong). It is just a designation. Thus it is said. Mahamudra: The Meaning of Inexpressibility Homage to the realized Lamas! Those who wish to realize Mahamudra: Should rest the mind in a state like an unmoving ocean. Because afflictions have no substance, one should rest it in a state like a clear sky. Because samsara and nirvana are inseparable, one should rest it in Dharmata. The nature of the three poisons (dug gsum) is the Dharmakaya (chos sku), One should know that mind nature is coemergent (lhan cig skyes pa). All appearances and sounds are the original state, One should know that from the beginning it is free from fabrication and effort. Not abandoning conceptual thought is the nature of Dharmata, One should know that it is uncorrected and naturally liberated. If one realizes in this way, it is the nature of the three bodies (sku gsum), Without effort, naturally accomplished. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
