The method of settling the mind through ugliness. The method of settling the mind through ugliness. Desires, like a burning pit, are full of fear. How can one completely abandon their habits? I prostrate with great joy, and explain the nectar stream spoken by him, the suppression of desire without desire. In short, there are ten aspects: signs, benefits, knowledge, gathering, meditation, measurement, stages of generation, methods of demonstrating the state of abiding, and understanding of delusion. Among them, the sign is to observe the sign of being more prone to desire here. What is it? Here, a person who indulges in desire is tightly entangled by desire even for small and all bad things, and can generate great desire. Not to mention the medium and the good. Those entangled by merit also reside in the mind stream for a long time, and those entangled by desire will also follow for a long time, and will be subdued by the objects of attachment, and will not be able to subdue the objects of attachment. The senses are slow, the senses are gentle, the senses are not rough, the senses are not violent. In other aspects, such as, the body and speech are extremely disharmonious, difficult to separate, difficult to be disgusted, fond of inferiority, base in behavior, stubborn in behavior, base in behavior, stable in behavior, fond of playfulness, greedy for clothing and utensils, and have much joy, happiness, and delight in this, without anger, with a bright complexion, and often smile first. Such and so on, it should be known that these are the signs of a person who indulges in desire. Thus it is said. The benefit is that desire, which relies on the inside and outside, is like fire, and is calmed by the antidote of practicing ugliness inside and outside, which is like water. As it is said: The fire of desire is extinguished by the water of ugliness. Thus it is said. Furthermore, desire is the root of all harm, as it is said. Therefore, if desire is extinguished, then other afflictions that rely on desire will also be extinguished.

Oh! Therefore, by quickly attaining samadhi and cultivating the wisdom based on it, the afflictions are completely abandoned from the root, and the completely pure wisdom arises, obtaining a body that is perfectly endowed like the color of gold. The accomplishment of the benefit of oneself and others will be naturally achieved. As the daughter Chandra Shrestha said: "Shining like the color of gold, pleasing to the eye, look at this body of mine. Alas! Such a beautiful body, only those who are endowed with a mind of attachment can possess it!" Thus it is said. Regarding this, it should be known that here one should know the characteristic of the unattractive as the antidote to desire. Desire is of two types: the desire for the desires of inner desires, and the desire for sexual intercourse of outer desires. Among these, by focusing on the impurity or unattractiveness that is based on the inner, the mind is turned away from the desire for the desires of inner desires. What is that? For example: hair, body hair, nails, teeth, phlegm, dirt, skin, flesh, bones, tendons, veins, kidneys, heart, liver, lungs, intestines, large intestine, stomach, cecum, spleen, feces, tears, eye mucus, saliva, snot, fat, pus, feet, oil, bile, phlegm, pus, blood, brain marrow, brain matter, urine, and those similar to these, it should be known that these are the unattractivenesses that are based on the inner. These are also summarized by the two elements of earth and water. Among these, from hair and body hair up to the description of (skin), it is the earth element. From tears and eye mucus up to urine, it is the water element. So, what is the unattractiveness that is based on the outer? For example: pecked by birds, gnawed, eaten by worms, swollen, devoured, reddened, scattered, a pile of bones, a skeleton, a skeleton of bones, stained with feces, stained with urine, stained with saliva, stained with snot, stained with blood, stained with pus.
