Immediately after offering the three-realm mandala, one should invite for the seventh hour, because these words must precede. The venerable Bharadvaja, who dwells in the western continent of Godaniya, who is able to beg for alms, and who is surrounded by thousands of monks, is invited by the almsgiver named so-and-so for the meal at the seventh hour tomorrow. Because foot washing and foot water must precede. The venerable Golden Calf, who is surrounded by five hundred monks, is invited by myself and the almsgiver named so-and-so for the seventh hour tomorrow, with foot washing and other offerings preceding. Likewise, the Buddhas, the Dharma, the Sangha, the Pratyekabuddhas, and the great Sangha of Bodhisattvas. Even for the invited guests, offerings must precede. I and the almsgiver will invite them for the meal tomorrow. The next morning, near the riverbank, or in a garden, or near a stupa, or in any other clean place, the respective rituals should precede, and offerings should be made. This is how it should be done: The venerable Bharadvaja, who dwells in the western continent of Godaniya, who is able to beg for alms, and who is surrounded by a thousand Arhat monks, is invited by myself, named so-and-so, and the almsgiver for the seventh hour. Please be seated on this seat so that I may follow you. I offer this cool water and these foot offerings to your feet. Wash your feet with undamaged durva grass, incense, flowers, and suitable water. Then, offer seats to each of them, and offer meals and other things according to their wishes, as well as the wealth that arises from the mind, the fragrance and flowers of the gods, incense, lamps, clothes, umbrellas, banners, and so on, according to your ability, with these words. To the venerable Bharadvaja, who is surrounded by a thousand Arhats, I offer various dishes, foods, offerings, yogurt, and so on, along with a vase filled with suitable fragrant water, and abundant offerings of the gods, flowers, incense, and so on. These are all from me, so-and-so.
