It is of the past tense. The seeds of all unreal pervasive thoughts, the cause of the appearance of two untruths, and the different entities that depend on them are also unreal. Although cause and effect appear together in it, it is not real. Although it appears like that, its nature does not appear, and although it does not appear, the nature appears. When one properly attends to it in this way, the Bodhisattva realizes the non-conceptual wisdom. Thus, by closely focusing, one realizes the close focus on mere consciousness. By closely focusing on mere consciousness, one realizes that all objects are without focus. By all objects being without focus, one realizes that even mere consciousness is without focus. By that being without focus, one realizes the distinction between the two focuses. There, whatever has no dual focus is non-conceptual wisdom, without object and without focus, because all characteristics are not focused on, it is the nature of close approximation. There are four types of realization through application: in the stage of aspiring conduct, because of the application of aspiration, that is the state of definite liberation. In the first stage, because of the application of individual wisdom, that is the state of touch. In the six impure stages, because of the extreme application to meditation, and also in the three pure stages. That is the state of recollection. Again, because the Buddha applies himself to the ultimate stage, the activity of the Buddha is spontaneously accomplished and continuous. That is the state of approaching its nature. The realization of faults is also possible even if there is no state of transformation. There are four types of faults: the fault of having no basis for the non-arising of afflictions, the fault of having no basis for the non-arising of the path, the fault of having no basis for establishing the term Nirvana for a person, and the fault of having no basis for establishing the distinction of the three types of enlightenment. Based on the opposite of these, there is a complete transformation of the state, and one should know that the benefits are fourfold. These are how the transformation of the state is realized, and it should be known as ten types. M

Examples of phenomena that appear as such are like illusions and dreams, and so on. Examples of transformed states are like space, gold, and water, and so on. Thus concludes "Distinguishing Dharma and Dharmata" composed by the noble Maitreya. Translated, examined, and finalized by the Indian Abbot Paṇḍita Śāntibhadra and the revising translator, the monk Tshultrim Gyalwa. Later, it was revised and finalized by the Kashmiri Abbot Paṇḍita Parahita and the revising translator, the monk Ga'dor, in the Thugdam Satholing Monastery. Mangalam!
