A Commentary on the Noble Sutra of Transcendent Wisdom, Prajñāsamudra. A Commentary on the Noble Sutra of Transcendent Wisdom. Prajñāsamudra. In Sanskrit: Ārya Atijñāna Sūtra Vyākhyāna. In Tibetan: A Commentary on the Noble Sutra of Transcendent Wisdom. Homage to the Glorious Vairocana! The very nature of unborn emptiness, Showing birth, you illuminate, Vairocana, compassionate one, I prostrate to the Sambhogakāya. I will write just a commentary On the definitive meaning of the sutra. Those who desire the unerring, certain path, Should enter into this way. If the meaning of the purpose and connection is not shown at the beginning, those with understanding will not enter, so it is shown: The so-called "Transcendent Wisdom" is the secret treasury of the hearts of the Tathāgatas, and this should be spoken. The collection of words that show it is what expresses it. Understanding its meaning by expressing it is the purpose. Obtaining the wisdom of understanding the mind, Buddhahood, by understanding its meaning is the ultimate purpose. The connection should be known from its power, since it does not arise. Thus I have heard at one time: The Bhagavan was dwelling in the palace of the King of the Akanishtha gods, teaching the Dharma to all the retinue. This shows the perfect beginning. Among them, "Thus I have heard at one time" shows the great learning of the compiler. "The Bhagavan was dwelling in the palace of the King of the Akanishtha gods" shows the perfection of the teacher and the branch of the place. Among them, the teacher should be known as the Sambhogakāya. Moreover, the Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra says: The palace of the Akanishtha gods, All sins are completely abandoned, Always endowed with non-conceptualization, Abandoning mind and what arises from mind, Whatever power and clairvoyance are obtained, Those who have mastered the power of samādhi, That perfect Buddha Will awaken here. Emanations will awaken here. Therefore, it is said. At the time of teaching the Dharma to all the retinue, here it is taught only to Bodhisattvas, not to the retinue of Śrāvakas. The Bodhisattva Akashagarbha prostrated to the Bhagavan and said:

Prayer! How should a Bodhisattva contemplate the mind at the moment of death? This is the beginning of the question. This is actually the question of the retinue. The meaning of its branch is that the Bodhisattva, having purified karma and afflictions and the obscurations of knowledge, and having perfected the two great accumulations, enters into hells and other places for countless eons for the benefit of each sentient being, or has patience for the profound Dharma. Akashagarbha refers to the wisdom that has realized the nature of reality like space, and is the name of the questioner. The Bhagavan, who has destroyed all aspects of discrimination, possesses true wisdom, and has transcended all extreme views such as permanence and annihilation, prostrates with body, speech, and mind, and then asks as follows: The Bhagavan is the same as before. A Bodhisattva refers to one who possesses the basic discipline, the discipline of accumulating virtuous Dharma, and the discipline of benefiting sentient beings. The mind at the moment of death refers to the time when the breath of life is exhaled, although it mainly refers to that time, it should also be constantly contemplated. How should it be contemplated, refers to how this mind should understand the Dharma of ultimate truth? What is the nature of this mind? What is the self-nature of this mind? Then how does it appear in the relative world? Thinking about how it will transform after realizing the self-nature of this mind. The Bhagavan taught: Akashagarbha, at the moment of death, a Bodhisattva should cultivate the wisdom of severance. This is the answer, because it is easy to understand, it was not explained. Among them, the wisdom of severance refers to the fact that all Dharmas are naturally pure, therefore one should cultivate the thought of non-substantiality, etc. This is a detailed explanation of the meaning of the scripture. How should this mind understand the Dharma of ultimate truth? In response to this, it is taught that all Dharmas are naturally pure, therefore one should cultivate the thought of non-substantiality. Among them, this "this" refers to the object of focus. The wisdom of severance refers to the actions previously performed by the Bodhisattvas, the Tathagatas, such as those that appear from below, understanding that kind of wisdom is called the wisdom of severance. The ultimate truth is the aggregates, elements, etc.
