Because it exists conventionally as the nature of dependent arising, it is like an illusion, which is not pure. Therefore, the five words "in the ultimate sense, it is the nature of emptiness" are spoken. How is it nominally established? The characteristics of the object of grasping and the grasper are selfless in the ultimate sense, because they are unborn from the beginning. The four types of non-existence, namely prior non-existence, cessation non-existence, mutual non-existence, and absolute non-existence, are also distinctions established based on things, because emptiness also depends on things. If things exist, then all conceptualizations will arise there, because non-existence negates all conceptualizations, thereby completely purifying conceptualizations. Therefore, just as one's own mind is the nature of emptiness, all phenomena are also like that. Then, how is the aspiration Bodhicitta, which was previously generated, and the practice Bodhicitta, which corresponds to the ultimate nature, with the characteristic of being in accordance with wisdom, called entering Bodhicitta? Because only it is the method of entering into certainty. Furthermore, any Bodhicitta that has not fully arisen through practice, understanding the nature of emptiness of all phenomena, and fully knowing it as it is, is called Bodhicitta. The mind with the characteristics of Bodhicitta is called Bodhicitta, and the wisdom corresponding to it is also called Prajnaparamita. Some also say that it is also known as Shamatha and Vipassana, with Vipassana corresponding to Shamatha. Shamatha is the one-pointedness of mind. The mind with the characteristics of Bodhicitta is the practice of the meaning of emptiness. Others say that it is known as the abiding mind, abiding means that the mind is not moved (by the eight worldly dharmas). The mind corresponding to this is called the Shamatha mind. Because it is distinguished by the mind of emptiness, it is called the faith-understanding Suchness attention. This must also be done by completely abandoning the two faults of sleep and agitation. When one is oppressed by the darkness of sleep, thereby causing the mind to turn away from the object of focus, at that time arising from the mind, contemplate the Dharma...

One should abide in emptiness in order to praise the mind of superior seeing, which is the characteristic of proceeding. However, if one becomes agitated by engaging in the aspects of objects, then one should abandon attachment to them by engaging in the ultimate truth, and abide in quiescence. When one becomes too wise due to excessive analysis, that is not the time for analysis, but the time for quiescence, so one should make equanimity towards time and non-time the measure, and again abide in quiescence. When one has attained peace, if one becomes attached to it, then, since peace itself is without essence, one should abandon attachment to it and abide only in non-attachment. In this way, whatever power one has, whatever one desires, even for a short time, one should abide. For this reason, one should repeatedly examine one's own mind as it is, and arise from that mind. Having arisen, one should think again: Even though all these things are empty, having the nature of being like the sky, nevertheless, they appear as inverted images because of the causes that depend on the relationship between causes and effects that have been determined separately from beginningless time, like illusions and dreams. As the Lankavatara Sutra says: "These dharmas are not unborn, these are not non-existent, like illusions, mirages, cities of gandharvas, and dreams, like apparitions." One should think like this. Because the knowledge of sentient beings is covered by the darkness of ignorance, they do not understand these dharmas, and they are deluded for a long time, and therefore they are impaired. One should think like this and generate compassion. When compassion compels one, one should think: Therefore, I must both realize these dharmas myself and make all sentient beings understand them. To meditate in this way is to purify the mind of aspiration for enlightenment. In this way, do not forget to regard all dharmas as dreamlike, and even when you rise, abide in enlightenment for the benefit of sentient beings, but do not become attached to any dharma. This is called the mind that arises from that. Even if the yogi has manifested other meaningful objects besides that, he should still regard all dharmas
