Titled: Commentary on the Condensed Explanation of Pramana-vidhvamsa. Titled: Commentary on the Condensed Explanation of Pramana-vidhvamsa. In Sanskrit: Tarka Vibhana Tattvika Vrtti Nama. In Tibetan: Titled: Commentary on the Condensed Explanation of Pramana-vidhvamsa. Homage to youthful Manjushri! Surpassing obstacles like rivers, completely abandoning even the extremely subtle, as clear and bright as the sky, homage to the perfect guide! In order to bring joy to the wise, the meaning of refutation will be explained. Among these, the initial words of the great scholar Nagarjuna, such as "Titled...", are not the author's own creation, but are to explain the necessity and connection, etc. Because if the necessity, etc., are not explained, those with conceptual minds will not enter, therefore it must be explained without doubt. How do those with conceptual minds not enter? For those who have conceptual minds first, if it is not explained, doubt will arise that remains in the place of non-existence, and here, only those with doubt will enter. Furthermore, if what should be explained is not explained, a sense of necessity will arise like words that slander the scriptures. Similarly, if the necessity is not explained, like a treatise that examines the teeth of a crow, it will not enter. What is it like to have no connection? It is like Longshi possessing jewels, here it is necessary to explain the connection. Furthermore, if the necessity of necessity is not explained, like the oral instructions on the order of making a fire offering to one's own mother in order to accomplish secret mantras from non-Buddhist scriptures, it is neither reasonable nor will wisdom arise, therefore it must be explained. If this is the case, didn't the great scholar Nagarjuna speak of many collections of reasoning in order to eliminate attachment to the extremes of epistemology? Indeed, it is so, but this is used and arranged for those who want to complete the meaning in a concise way. So how are necessity, etc., explained? They are explained through direct and indirect means. Among them, here, by explaining the detailed explanation, knowing what should be abandoned and what should be accepted is the necessity. And, for the names of abandoning and accepting, a detailed explanation and establishment is the re-

It is necessary. Among these, what is implicitly shown is the relationship, that is, the treatise that is briefly summarized and used is the method, and what is needed is what arises from it. Here, too, there is a relationship between the method and what arises from the method, in the manner of cause and effect. So, what is the treatise meant to express? Therefore, it expresses the meaning of refutation and establishment, and that is what is to be expressed. Now, in order to show the meaning of the words, the term "teacher" and so on are mentioned. Among these, "great" means possessing intelligence and being a sacred place that everyone follows, therefore it is the great teacher. Nāgārjuna is a great name that is superior to humans, that is, in the past, when he went to the land of the nāgas for some purpose, the nāgas showed their respective magical powers but could not subdue him, so the nāga king offered his daughter, and the nāgas made offerings, and he received the name there, and he was also known in the human realm as a monk. "Your face" is what we all call in the manner of service. "By valid cognition" means showing the reason for perversion, that is, it is harmless, established, and not deceptive, and since it does not possess those characteristics, it is a refutation. "Treatise" means from the sound of the Sanskrit word (梵文天城体:प्रकरण,梵文罗马拟音:prakaraṇa,汉语字面意思:Treatise), it means to make supreme and to show meaning. "From" should be understood as the meaning of origin. Among these, the concise meaning is this, it shows the collection of many reasons for refuting and establishing when refuting greatness and so on, that is, refutation is shown here by annihilation, non-establishment, and so on, and others are not written because there are too many words. Among these, establishment is to be stated only briefly for the time being, that is, we great Madhyamikas consider that whatever needs to be refuted has been refuted, and that is called establishment. What needs to be refuted, such as Mind-Only, Madhyamaka, etc., all that is considered to be substantial and merely substantial in the ultimate truth is refuted by the reasoning that appears below, and the conventional and non-substantial that depend on it are also refuted, and only what needs to be refuted. Among these, conventional is the sound of the Sanskrit word (梵文天城体:संवृति,梵文罗马拟音:saṃvṛti,汉语字面意思:conventional), which is obscuration or delusion, etc. Therefore, that too is what needs to be refuted. Illusion.
