Similarly, here too, one should understand the difference between it and this. In order to show its similarity to a mirage, the following is said: Whatever the various objects of focus, each moment arises and ceases, when seen, it disintegrates and is without characteristics, this is similar to a mirage. Here it says, whatever the various objects of focus, are fully examined through detailed distinctions. Which and which, are the nature of a moment. Each moment arises and ceases, means that each moment arises, or that characteristics arise separately, therefore it says each moment arises and ceases, until the moment itself. Then, what is the ultimate essence like? It says the following: When seen, it disintegrates and is without characteristics, this is similar to a mirage. Just as the change of the earth and the encounter with sunlight, the first sight of a mirage, will also disintegrate later, similarly, for the objects of focus, the arising of consciousness is without substance and without characteristics, therefore it is the essence of not encountering before and after. Because it has different natures, it becomes a child, completely clinging to it. What appears as the two parts of grasping and being grasped, which are clung to in the conventional truth, is also emptiness and naturally luminous, it is shown as the Dharma nature of the mind that has not been born from the very beginning. In order to show its similarity to an image, the following is said: What is grasped is like an image, arising from the beginningless mind, consciousness is also like that, mutually similar to images. Here it says, what is grasped refers to the habitual tendencies of being accustomed to looking outward, because of clearly clinging to what is grasped, even though it is non-dual, the essence appears as two separate things. Like an image, refers to being similar to an image, just like the face etc. contained in the center of a mirror. The beginning, refers to arising from the transformations of the mind of beginningless time. What is that? It arises from the mind

, because it arises from the nature of mind, it is called mind-born. Up to "merely the external objects related to this do not depend." Therefore, it is like an image, not distinguished by common and special moments. Not only that, but consciousness is also the same as this, meaning that the consciousness that is similar to that aspect is also the same as this. "Also" means جمع, having attachment is also the same as this, meaning that if one is separated from the object of grasping, the grasper does not exist either. Because the related words mean mutual dependence, it is said that "they are similar to each other like images." The object of grasping and the grasper are mutually dependent, meaning that the nature of mutual relation observed in these two is the Dharma nature of the self-luminous mind. In order to eliminate the attachment to the self-luminous mind, that is, to eliminate the separation from the object of grasping and the grasper, and to eliminate the defilements of desire and ignorance, making it pure, it is explained that it is similar to the moon in water. "In the continuum of meditation and purity, the moon of wisdom that arises is not an obvious existence, it is similar to the moon in water." Meditation is the characteristic of one-pointedness of mind, and wherever it exists, that is meditation. Purity is being free from the defilements of habitual tendencies. Continuum refers to the continuum of body, speech, and mind, which is the nature of reversing the law of dependent origination and generating true wisdom. "The moon of wisdom that arises" means that true wisdom eliminates the darkness of ignorance and pacifies the flames of afflictions, and because it is not stained by the defilements of habitual tendencies, it is in accordance with the moon in Dharma nature, so it is called the moon of wisdom. It arises and rises from the pure continuum, and it is also impossible to grasp as a real entity, so it is said that "it is not an obvious existence." Although it appears in this way, why can't it be observed and grasped obviously? Why? Because it is emptiness.
