Whatever arises, it seems that one can obtain the fruits of the three vehicles and will not be harmed by demons. However, one must deeply understand the nature of all phenomena, and in order to attain the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, one should not fall into the state of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas in the intermediate state. This is what is to be explained. In order to clearly explain this point, it is explained from "the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva who deeply understands practices the Perfection of Giving" to "practicing in all aspects of knowledge will not become a Śrāvaka or Pratyekabuddha." O Joyful One! Therefore, entrusting this profound Prajñāpāramitā to you, from "being close to all aspects of knowledge" onwards, it is explained that Prajñāpāramitā is superior to all other Sūtras, and the virtues such as being the same as the Tathāgata itself are narrated, and it is entrusted and exhorted so that it will not decline. Why is that? O Joyful One! From "that which arises from the Prajñāpāramitā is the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat" to "O Joyful One! Therefore, a Bodhisattva Mahāsattva who desires to manifestly awaken to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment and desires to train in the six perfections should train in this profound Prajñāpāramitā," it explains the reasons for studying, offering, and respecting the Prajñāpāramitā, and not abandoning it. Because the enlightenment of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have appeared in the past, future, and present, and who reside in the ten directions, also arises from this Prajñāpāramitā, one should study this Prajñāpāramitā and should not abandon it. This is what is to be explained. Why is that? O Joyful One! For example, the Prajñāpāramitā is the mother of the Bodhisattva Mahāsattvas, the one who gives birth. This explains the reason for studying this profound Prajñāpāramitā. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas'

also attained their respective positions. They attained it by relying on this Prajñāpāramitā, and because of this they attained the unsurpassed Bodhi, therefore one should study this Prajñāpāramitā, as it is taught. O Joyful One, whatever Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas study the six pāramitās, all of them will attain the unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. O Joyful One, therefore I entrust these six pāramitās to you again and again. The phrase "subsequently entrust" is taught to clarify the meaning mentioned above. Thus, this Prajñāpāramitā is what gives rise to Bodhisattvas, so it is impossible not to study it, in order to not decline but remain for a long time, and in order to widely propagate it, therefore I entrust it to you, as it is taught. Why is that? O Joyful One, the treasury of the Dharma of the Tathāgatas, Arhats, perfect and complete Buddhas, and so on, until complete nirvāṇa, will completely pass into nirvāṇa, etc., means that relying on this Prajñāpāramitā, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat of the three times, and their retinue of Śrāvakas, all attain their respective positions because of this Prajñāpāramitā, and they teach the Dharma relying on this. O Joyful One, if you, for the individuals of the Śrāvakayāna, starting from the Śrāvaka ground, and so on, until they will do the work of a Śrāvaka, etc., means that by teaching the Dharma of the Lesser Vehicle, all sentient beings of the three thousand great thousand world realms become Arhats. In comparison, the Bodhisattva only teaches a few words of this profound Prajñāpāramitā, and the benefits are even greater, as it is taught. O Joyful One, what do you think? The previous Dharma teacher, and so on, until he will surpass the roots of virtue of all sons and daughters of the Śrāvaka and Pratyekabuddha lineages, etc., means that all sentient beings of the three thousand great thousand world realms simultaneously become Arhats, giving alms and

The merit of protecting the earth and practicing meditation is such that if one expounds this Prajnaparamita for a very short time, such as a few days, half a day, or a few mornings, a few hours, or even a moment, an instant, or a snap of the fingers, the merit gained is even greater. Why is that? Because from "I also desire to manifest and realize the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment" to "There is no place to fall away from the Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment, that is not a place," this passage explains the reason why expounding the Prajnaparamita has great merit. Expounding the Prajnaparamita can accomplish the perfection of both self and others, and it is impossible to regress from Unsurpassed Perfect Enlightenment. From "When expounding this Prajnaparamita" to "Good, all dharmas are without knowledge, without seeing, and without power to act," this passage is to explain that one should not regard all dharmas as truly existent. Using the example of the illusion created by a magician, which is ultimately invisible, it is shown that all dharmas are also invisible. Why is that? From "Good, all dharmas are like space, without action, therefore without action and without grasping" to "Because there is no essence, there is no feeling," this passage uses metaphors to explain that all dharmas are without true existence and without action. For example, space and illusory beings, because they are without true existence and without consciousness, do nothing. The so-called "the characteristic of abiding separately is dependent on manifestation" means that in ultimate truth, all dharmas are without true existence, therefore there is no actor; but in conventional truth, everything that appears is merely dependent on the manifestation of causes and conditions. From "A Bodhisattva Mahasattva who practices in this way is practicing the Prajnaparamita" to "Permitted by the Buddhas, praised by the Buddhas," this passage explains that if one understands that all dharmas are without true existence and practices and studies the Prajnaparamita, it surpasses all practices with objects of focus.
