Chapter Fifty: The Chapter on Non-Attachment. Chapter Fifty: The Chapter on Non-Attachment. Then, Indra, the Lord of the Gods, addressed the Blessed One as follows, from "Not being deluded is difficult to do" to the end. Thus, in the ultimate truth, there is no object of any dharma, and in the conventional truth, one also desires to attain perfect enlightenment. Such a being with characteristics cannot be done by anyone, therefore it is difficult to practice. Thus, it is a praise to the Bodhisattva who practices the profound Prajnaparamita. Then, the Venerable Subhuti said to Indra, the Lord of the Gods, as follows, from the fact that the Dharma taught by the Venerable Subhuti is also without attachment to anything. Indra said that it is difficult to practice, and for those who teach that all dharmas are empty, it is not difficult for Subhuti to show that there is no cowardice. Indra praised Subhuti for teaching the profound Dharma. Then, Indra, the Lord of the Gods, addressed the Blessed One as follows, from the fact that the Dharma of the Dharma-holder is truly prophesied, will it be prophesied? Thus, Indra previously said that it is difficult for the Bodhisattva who practices the profound Dharma to practice, and whatever the Venerable Subhuti teaches, all of it is created and taught with emptiness, without attachment to anything. Thus, he said, whether it is in accordance with the words of the Blessed One, whether it is in accordance with the Dharma, he asked. The Dharma of the Dharma-holder means that Dharma refers to the Dharma of Nirvana, and the Dharma of the Dharma-holder refers to the practice of the Dharma of Nirvana, referring to the Noble Path. He asked whether what I said is in accordance with it. The Blessed One taught, from the fact that the Dharma of the Dharma-holder will be prophesied, thus, what Indra said earlier is also in accordance with the words of the Blessed One, and it is not contrary to the Dharma, thus he taught. Indra reported, Blessed One, whatever the Venerable Subhuti proclaims, all of them are created with emptiness and taught.

From the beginning of "Courage" to the end of "Starting from omniscience, courage is very wonderful," it is said that the Venerable Subhuti is a Shravaka, and he understands the profound and vast behavior of Bodhisattvas, and it is very wonderful to show great courage to others, which is a praise to Subhuti. The Blessed One taught: Kausika, the Venerable Subhuti's realm of practice is emptiness, from here to "If even the marks are unattainable, what more to say about whose body has marks?" it is said that: Venerable Subhuti thus practices the profound and vast behavior of Bodhisattvas, and for all the pure dharmas such as the six paramitas to be practiced, and the individuals who practice this dharma, both are unattainable, therefore, Venerable Subhuti is so courageous towards all the pure dharmas such as the six paramitas, this is what is to be expressed. Why? Kausika, the Venerable Subhuti's realm of practice is the separation of all dharmas, from here to "Numbers and heat and calculations, as well as metaphors and reasons cannot be tolerated," it is said that: Although the Venerable Subhuti has such profound and vast behavior, the Bodhisattva practices Prajnaparamita, and cannot even approach one percent, etc., this is to explain that the Bodhisattva's behavior is particularly superior. Why? From "Not understanding the behavior of the Tathagata" to "The Tathagata who has abandoned all the afflictions of the continuation of habitual tendencies will become an Arhat, a perfectly enlightened Buddha," this is to explain the reason why the Bodhisattva's practice of Prajnaparamita is more superior than the behavior of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. How does the Bodhisattva practice Prajnaparamita, Subhuti cannot be so complete, and the Bodhisattva surpasses with special vows, therefore, it will not be transferred by the behavior of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, this is the meaning to be expressed. Then, from the assembly, the gods of the Thirty-three Heavens began, to the Blessed One

With the words "By this root of virtue, may we conduct ourselves with the supreme conduct that is not the realm of activity of all Hearers and Solitary Realizers," it is explained that the Bodhisattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom is superior to the conduct of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, and that the gods of the Thirty-Three and the assembly of one hundred and sixty monks, having heard this while dwelling therein, the gods made great offerings, and the monks also made great offerings, and then the monks prayed, "May we conduct ourselves in the supreme conduct of the Perfection of Wisdom, which is superior to the conduct of Hearers and Solitary Realizers," and prophesied. Then, from the words "The Blessed One understood my thoughts" to "The Bodhisattva Mahasattva who wishes to practice the conduct of the Tathagata should practice the Perfection of Wisdom," it is explained that the one hundred and sixty monks, having developed faith in the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom, and having made prayers, also combined this prophecy with the fact that the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom is so powerful and fulfills all wishes, and therefore one should practice it. O Joyful One, whatever son or daughter of good family, from the words "Wisdom" to "O Joyful One, that son or daughter of good family should be known to have performed actions for the Buddhas of the past, accumulated roots of virtue, and been embraced by virtuous friends." This passage explains that if one has practiced the Perfection of Wisdom in previous lives and accumulated various roots of virtue, then one will practice this Perfection of Wisdom in this life, but otherwise one will not. O Joyful One, some sons or daughters of good family, even if they accumulate roots of virtue from the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones, are not free from delusion, and may become Hearers or Solitary Realizers, even though they should strive to understand the practice of all-knowingness.
