第九，三摩地品。 第九，三摩地品。 其中，何谓名为“勇猛行”的三摩地？等，是对三摩地的名称、意义和随顺的解释。其中，何谓名为“勇猛行”的三摩地？彼三摩地是行于一切三摩地的行境，如勇士既能守护自己的国土，也能守护他人的国土一样，如果安住于此三摩地，则能如实通达自之行境与一切其他三摩地的行境，即一切法无生，并且在世俗中，由于具有能行各种利益众生的三摩地果之威力，故与勇猛行相似，因此称为勇猛行。此处的“行”字，意为通达或思择。何谓名为“宝印”的三摩地？彼三摩地变得犹如印 sealed一切三摩地，如果安住于彼三摩地，则具有使自他相续中的一切三摩地不离各自的行境，并如印持般安住之威力，故称为宝印。之所以珍贵，是因为那样的三摩地不是一切的行境，并且稀有。何谓名为“狮子奋迅”的三摩地？安住于彼三摩地，并以一切三摩地而奋迅，如狮子无惧一切猛兽，且能压伏一切猛兽和鹿而游行一样，如果安住于彼三摩地，则能压伏一切声闻和独觉，并具有行于一切之威力，故称为狮子奋迅。此处的“奋迅”意为行。何谓名为“妙月”的三摩地？安住于彼三摩地，并使一切三摩地显现，如月光消除一切黑暗，而显现光明美好一样，如果安住于彼三摩地，

Ninth, the chapter on Samadhi. Ninth, the chapter on Samadhi. Among them, what is the Samadhi called "Heroic Conduct"? And so on, is an explanation of the names and meanings of the Samadhis in accordance with their nature. Among them, what is the Samadhi called "Heroic Conduct"? That Samadhi is the one that operates in the realm of all Samadhis, just as a brave man can protect his own country and also protect the country of others. If one abides in this Samadhi, one can truly realize that all phenomena are unborn in the ultimate sense, and in the conventional sense, because it has the power to practice various benefits for sentient beings as a result of Samadhi, it is similar to heroic conduct, so it is called heroic conduct. The word "conduct" here means understanding or discernment. What is the Samadhi called "Precious Seal"? That Samadhi becomes like sealing all Samadhis. If one abides in that Samadhi, it has the power to keep all the Samadhis in one's own and others' minds from changing from their respective realms and abiding as if sealed, so it is called Precious Seal. It is precious because such a Samadhi is not the realm of all and is rare. What is the Samadhi called "Lion's Vigorous Play"? Abiding in that Samadhi, and vigorously playing with all Samadhis, just as a lion is fearless of all wild beasts, and can subdue all wild beasts and deer and roam, so if one abides in that Samadhi, one can subdue all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and has the power to act on all, so it is called Lion's Vigorous Play. The word "vigorous play" here means action. What is the Samadhi called "Excellent Moon"? Abiding in that Samadhi, and making all Samadhis appear, just as the moonlight dispels all darkness and reveals brightness and beauty, so if one abides in that Samadhi,

Having dispelled all the darkness of ignorance, and realizing clearly and without obstruction the activities for the sake of all other samādhis, it is called Moon Good because it is as beautiful and good as the moon. Among these, what is the samādhi called "Victorious Banner of the Moon, Glorious"? That samādhi is the one that holds the victorious banner of all samādhis, meaning that if one is absorbed in that samādhi, it eliminates the obscurations and obstacles of all samādhis, and the very fact that it is as clear as the moon is its sign or characteristic, therefore it is called "Victorious Banner of the Moon, Glorious," and "glorious" refers to the top of the victorious banner. Among these, what is the samādhi called "Supremely Excellent Over All Dharmas"? Abiding in that samādhi and being manifestly superior to all samādhis, meaning that if one is absorbed in that samādhi, by the power of all samādhis, one will become manifestly superior to all the dharmas of saṃsāra, therefore it is called "Supremely Excellent Over All Dharmas." Among these, what is the samādhi called "Complete View of the Crown of the Head"? Abiding in that samādhi and completely viewing the crown of the head of all samādhis, meaning that if one is absorbed in that samādhi, one will particularly realize the ultimate limit of the meaning of all samādhis, hence it is called "Complete View of the Crown of the Head," and "crown of the head" here refers to the limit or the peak. Among these, what is the samādhi called "Certainty in the Realm of Dharma"? Abiding in that samādhi and proceeding to realize the realm of dharma, meaning that if one is absorbed in that samādhi, one will certainly realize the realm of dharma, therefore it is called "Certainty in the Realm of Dharma," and "proceeding to realize" here refers to realizing and comprehending. Among these, what is the samādhi called "Victorious Banner of Certainty, Glorious"? Abiding in that samādhi and certainly holding the victorious banner of all samādhis, meaning that if one is absorbed in that samādhi, one will certainly possess the characteristics of the qualities of all other samādhis, hence it is called "Victorious Banner of Certainty, Glorious," and "victorious banner, glorious" here refers to a characteristic or a sign. 什么叫做“金刚”呢？ 住在该禅定并且一切禅定都不会坏灭，就是说，如果安住于该禅定，那么其他一切禅定都不会被各自相违的方面所摧毁，因此如同金刚一样，所以叫做“金刚”。 什么叫做“进入一切法的印”的禅定呢？ 住在该禅定并且进入一切法的印，就是说，如果安住于该禅定，那么就会证悟一切法无生、无灭，因此叫做“进入一切法的印”，一切法无生、无灭本身就是量士夫的标志，因此叫做“印”。 什么叫做“如国王般安住于禅定”的禅定呢？ 住在该禅定并且如国王般安住于一切禅定，就是说，譬如大国王对于未得到的国土，就令其得到；对于已得到的国土，就守护而不令其损坏衰败，并且完全地治理，同样地，如果安住于该禅定，那么对于未得到的其他禅定，就令其得到；对于已得到的禅定，就令其不衰败，因此叫做“如国王般安住于禅定”。 什么叫做“放射光芒”的禅定呢？ 住在该禅定并且放射一切禅定的光芒，就是说，如果安住于该禅定，那么凭借它的力量，就能从其他禅定的神变光芒放射中产生利益有情等等的作用，因此叫做“放射光芒”。 什么叫做“军队的部署”的禅定呢？ 住在该禅定，并且部署一切禅定的力量，就是说，如果安住于该禅定，那么就能产生和显示其他一切禅定的力量和神变，利益有情等等的作用，并且它的相违品和障碍都不能够阻挡，这就叫做“军队的部署”。 什么叫做“完全超胜”的

That is, if one abides in that samadhi, then all other samadhis will not be destroyed by their respective opposing aspects. Therefore, it is like a vajra, so it is called "Vajra." What is the samadhi called "Entering the Seal of All Dharmas"? It means abiding in that samadhi and entering the seal of all dharmas. That is, if one abides in that samadhi, then one will realize that all dharmas are unborn and unceasing. Therefore, it is called "Entering the Seal of All Dharmas." The unborn and unceasing nature of all dharmas is itself the mark of a valid person, so it is called "Seal." What is the samadhi called "Abiding in Samadhi Like a King"? It means abiding in that samadhi and abiding in all samadhis like a king. That is, just as a great king obtains lands that have not been obtained, protects those that have been obtained from being destroyed or decayed, and governs them completely, similarly, if one abides in that samadhi, then one will obtain other samadhis that have not been obtained, and prevent those that have been obtained from decaying. Therefore, it is called "Abiding in Samadhi Like a King." What is the samadhi called "Radiating Light"? It means abiding in that samadhi and radiating the light of all samadhis. That is, if one abides in that samadhi, then by its power, the power to benefit sentient beings and so on will arise from the miraculous light radiating from other samadhis. Therefore, it is called "Radiating Light." What is the samadhi called "Deployment of the Army"? It means abiding in that samadhi and deploying the power of all samadhis. That is, if one abides in that samadhi, then one will be able to generate and display the power and miracles of all other samadhis, and the function of benefiting sentient beings and so on, and its opposing factors and obstacles will not be able to hinder it. This is called "Deployment of the Army." What is called "Completely Transcendent"?
