Fourth Chapter: Explanation of Complete Manifest Enlightenment. Fourth Chapter: Explanation of Complete Manifest Enlightenment. Since the order of directly realizing the fruit of the three kinds of omniscience depends solely on practice, now, in order to master them, it is intended to explain what is complete manifest enlightenment, which is the simultaneous contemplation by collecting the basis, path, and all aspects. Therefore, first, its aspects are explained: The distinctions of knowing the basis are called aspects, which are their characteristics. Since the nature of omniscience is threefold, it is considered to have three aspects. Thus it is said. The characteristic of establishing impermanence and so on, and the distinctions of focusing on them, by the distinctions of the truths of suffering and so on, is the characteristic of aspects. It is considered to have three aspects by the distinctions of the three kinds of omniscience. Among them, the detailed classifications of the aspects of the nature of all knowledge are explained: Starting from the aspect of non-existence, up to the aspect of immovability, each truth has four, and fifteen are explained for the path. Thus it is said. The characteristic of not being permanent is impermanence; the characteristic of not being truly produced is suffering; the characteristic of being devoid of other meaning is emptiness; the characteristic of not being defiled by the faults of the aggregates is selflessness. These are the four aspects of the truth of suffering. The characteristic of not having a basis is the aspect of cause; the characteristic of being devoid of an agent, like the sky, is arising; the characteristic of not being expressed by permanence and so on is production; the characteristic of not having the name of feeling and so on is the aspect of condition. These are the four aspects of arising. The characteristic of not having inherent existence, therefore not having going, is cessation; the nature of not being taken away from the suffering that has been abandoned is peace; the characteristic of not being exhausted because of being free from inferior faults is excellence; the characteristic of not having birth because of having reached a beneficial place is liberation. These are the four aspects of cessation. Thus, each of the three truths is classified in detail, making twelve. The truth of the path has fifteen detailed classifications of distinctions: The characteristic of not having a self-maker is the path; having afflictive

Namely, the nature of having no knower, and the establishment of the nature of immutability due to non-inversion, and the definite arising of the nature of the unchanging state of permanence, these four aspects; like a dream, one's own nature is without substance; like an echo, not born from causes; like an eye disease, not interrupted by conditions; like a mirage, pacified from the very beginning; like an illusion, the very nature of reality is nirvana, realizing these five aspects; the nature of all afflictions and purification, the antidotes to be abandoned and adopted, these two are absent; the habit of afflictions and the distinctions of form, etc., the antidote to clinging to self and phenomena is without contamination, and the two of non-elaboration; tasting the flavor of attaining one's own realization, and the antidote to realizing decline from others, the absence of pride in the antidote of complete grasping with the door of fruition, and the two aspects of immovability, these are the six distinctions of realization. Among them, the first four are the antidotes to the obscuration of afflictions. The following eleven are the antidotes to the obscuration of knowledge, such as the nature of the path of meditation and the path of seeing, with outflows and complete with the nature of the other five and six, as many as the number, in general, all are the twenty-seven aspects of omniscience. After that, the various distinctions of the aspects of the knowledge of the path are taught: Cause and path and suffering, And cessation in order, Those eight and seven, And five and sixteen are proclaimed. So it is said. In general, what is the cause of generating suffering? It is the desire for objects, the increase of attachment, the antidote to the manifestation of craving due to the love of objects, which is the three aspects of detachment from desire and non-abiding, and peace; what is the origin of all suffering without exception? It is the antidote to desire, hatred, and ignorance, these three are absent; what is the extreme arising of intense suffering? It is the antidote to incorrect conceptualization, the very nature of non-affliction is unique; what is the cause of the continuous arising of suffering? It is the antidote to the manifestation of clinging to sentient beings, the very aspect of non-sentient beings is unique, thus the eight aspects are the cause.
