The Path of Action. The Path of Action. Having spoken thus, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, addressed the Blessed One, saying: "Blessed One, it is most wondrous that this Prajñāpāramitā abides in such a way for the sake of completely subduing and eliminating the pride of the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas." The Blessed One said: "Kauśika, how does this Prajñāpāramitā abide for the sake of completely subduing and eliminating the pride of the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattvas?" Having spoken thus, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, addressed the Blessed One, saying: "Blessed One, here, the Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva engages in the worldly Dāna-pāramitā, making offerings to the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, the Pratyekabuddhas, and the Śrāvakas, thinking: 'I am making offerings to the Buddhas, the Bodhisattvas, the Pratyekabuddhas, the Śrāvakas, the destitute, the guests, and the beggars.' However, that unskilled giving will turn into pride. The Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva guards the worldly precepts, and, Blessed One, 'I am engaging in such a Śīla-pāramitā. I am perfecting the Śīla-pāramitā,' thinking thus, he will turn into pride because of that. The Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva cultivates worldly patience, and, Blessed One, 'I am engaging in such a Kṣānti-pāramitā. I am perfecting the Kṣānti-pāramitā,' thinking thus, he will turn into pride because of that. The Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva exerts worldly effort, and, Blessed One, 'I am engaging in such a Vīrya-pāramitā. I am perfecting the Vīrya-pāramitā,' thinking thus, he will turn into pride because of that. The Bodhisattva-Mahāsattva enters into worldly Samādhi.

as an object of action. World Honored One, I practice such a Perfection of Meditation. I think that I can perfect the Perfection of Meditation, and thus I become arrogant. That Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the worldly Perfection of Wisdom, but because of unskilled means, World Honored One, I practice the Perfection of Wisdom. I think that I can perfect the Perfection of Wisdom, and thus I become arrogant. That Bodhisattva Mahasattva cultivates the worldly mindfulness, thinking: I cultivate mindfulness. I cultivate right exertion, I cultivate the bases of miraculous power, I cultivate the faculties, I cultivate the powers, I cultivate the limbs of enlightenment, I cultivate the eightfold noble path. I cultivate emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness samadhi. I cultivate all samadhis, I cultivate all dharani gates, I cultivate the immeasurables, I cultivate meditation, I cultivate the formless attainments. I cultivate the four noble truths, I cultivate supernormal knowledges, I cultivate the ten powers, I cultivate the four fearlessnesses, I cultivate the four analytical knowledges, I cultivate the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha. I can ripen sentient beings. I can purify the Buddha-field. I can attain omniscience, thinking thus, I become arrogant because of attachment to self and what belongs to self. World Honored One, that Bodhisattva Mahasattva thus practices worldly dharmas, and becomes arrogant because of attachment to self and what belongs to self. To tame that Perfection of Wisdom and to be without arrogance, one should draw near to it. This is called the practice of universal taming. World Honored One, here, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the transcendental dharmas and practices giving,

Moreover, they do not fixate on giving, nor on the act of giving, nor on the recipient. Thus, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices the Perfection of Wisdom abides in order to be fully subdued and without arrogance. Similarly, they do not fixate on guarding morality, practicing patience, exerting effort, entering into meditative concentration, or the wisdom of cultivating wisdom. Likewise, they do not fixate on cultivating mindfulness, perfect abandonment, the foundations of miraculous power, faculties, strengths, limbs of enlightenment, or the paths. They do not fixate on cultivating the immeasurable, meditative concentrations, formless absorptions, noble truths, or supernormal knowledges. They do not fixate on cultivating the powers, fearlessnesses, individual correct knowledges, or the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha. They do not fixate on cultivating all emptinesses, all samadhis, or all dharani gates. Similarly, they do not fixate on cultivating great love or great compassion. They do not fixate on cultivating up to the all-knowingness. Bhagavan, thus, the Perfection of Wisdom is where a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abides in order to be fully subdued and without arrogance, which shows all acts of homage. Then, the Bhagavan said to Indra, the lord of the gods: Kausika, whether a son or daughter of good family who holds, carries, reads, fully understands, recites, or properly attends to this profound Perfection of Wisdom, when they are in battle, advancing on the battlefield, if that son or daughter of good family recites this Perfection of Wisdom and goes forth, then that son or daughter of good family will not be defeated, they will surely be victorious. Having been victorious, without being injured or harmed, they will be liberated from that battle. Kausika, whether a son or daughter of good family who recites this profound Perfection of Wisdom and is on the battlefield
