Subhuti asked: "Venerable One, which virtuous friends of Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, upon hearing the teaching of this Perfection of Wisdom, do not tremble, do not fear, and do not become filled with dread?" The Blessed One replied: "Subhuti, in this case, the virtuous friend of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is one who teaches that form is impermanent, teaching the Dharma in a way that does not fixate on it, and does not direct all those roots of virtue towards the ground of the Hearers or the Solitary Buddhas, but only towards all-knowingness. And also, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are impermanent, teaching the Dharma in a way that does not fixate on it, and does not direct all those roots of virtue towards the ground of the Hearers or the Solitary Buddhas, but only towards all-knowingness. Subhuti, this should be recognized as the virtuous friend of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva.
