taught. Sixth, because of not fully understanding the self-nature of demons, etc., one is completely ignorant of inequality. The Sutra also says: Subhuti, this Prajnaparamita acts on all dharmas and bestows all courage and all appearances, and so on. Seventh, because of clinging to the meaning as it is in the literal sense, one is completely ignorant of the truth of suffering, etc. The Sutra also says: Subhuti, furthermore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should practice the meaning of Prajnaparamita in this way, that is, he should practice the meaning of impermanence, and so on. Eighth, because of not fully understanding the self-nature of desire, etc., one is completely ignorant of the nature of afflictions. The Sutra also says: Then, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, if there is no distinction between meaning and non-meaning in this profound Prajnaparamita, then, Blessed One, how should a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practice the meaning of Prajnaparamita? and so on. Ninth, because of not fully understanding the characteristics of the apprehended and the apprehender, one is completely ignorant of non-duality. The Sutra also says: He said: Blessed One, will a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva not attain omniscience by studying the uncollected Prajnaparamita? and so on. All perfections depend on the Bodhisattva abiding in the path of meditation, as taught in the Sutra: After saying this, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, the Prajnaparamita is profound! and so on.
