Beginning with what is called "Practicing Going to the Other Shore," what is said is for the purpose of understanding the restoration of the ultimate act of discipline. The perfection of patience is: beginning with what is called "Oneself also practices the perfection of patience," and for the purpose of understanding what is foremost in the ultimate of patience, and similarly, each act of the perfection of diligence, meditation, and wisdom, each act of increasing the ultimate, is taught by manifestly expressing the ultimate realization. Explanation of the ultimate realization of the six recollections. The ultimate realization of the recollection of the Buddha is: again, from the beginning of generating the first thought of enlightenment, with the mind possessing all-knowingness, and possessing the power to believe that all phenomena are of the nature of non-substantiality, not focusing on the form of the Tathagata, therefore recollecting the Buddha, this is recollecting the Buddha. Why is that? Because form and so on are without self-nature, therefore it is without self-nature. Why is that? Because recollecting the Buddha is the very absence of recollection. Similarly, each is explained by the combination of two definitive reasons, until completed. Again, because not focusing on the marks and signs and so on, it is recollecting the Buddha. Similarly, because not focusing on the aggregate of discipline and so on, it is recollecting the Buddha. Similarly, because not focusing on the ten powers and so on, it is recollecting the Buddha. Because not focusing on dependent origination, it is recollecting the Buddha. Thus, there are five aspects of recollecting the Buddha. Among them, the first is generating the thought of enlightenment. The remaining ones are the four that are in accordance with the definitive severance and realization. Thus, while learning, the path of seeing is accomplished by the complete perfection of the limbs of enlightenment such as mindfulness, and the path of meditation is up to the complete perfection of the wisdom of all-knowingness. Thus, even though the nature of non-substantiality has been determined, fully understanding the ultimate act and so on is realizing the practice of recollecting the Buddha.

O! Just as it is, not attending to dharmas such as virtue, non-virtue, and the unstated, therefore recollecting the Dharma; because the four pairs of persons are distinguished by the nature of emptiness, therefore attending to emptiness, without memory and without attention, therefore recollecting the Sangha; from the initial generation of bodhicitta, closely adhering to the precepts that are undiminished, faultless, unmixed, without stain, without attachment, powerful, praised by the wise, and perfectly complete in accomplishing samadhi, therefore, attending to these precepts with the nature of emptiness, thereby without memory and with attention, is recollecting the precepts. Among these, the precepts are undiminished because they do not rely on other vehicles; faultless because they have abandoned the fearful birth; unmixed because they are not mixed with evil people and afflictions; without stain because they uniquely increase pure dharmas; without attachment because they do not plant the seeds of the path to maturation; powerful because they can proceed as desired; praised by the wise, they are praised by the virtuous; perfectly complete because the senses are subdued; capable of accomplishing samadhi because they closely adhere to the words of the limbs of meditation, etc. For the giving of dharma and contaminated gifts, attending to the nature of emptiness, thereby without memory and without attention, is recollecting giving; those who have entered the stream, born into the six classes of beings who practice in the desire realm, and the non-returners who practice in the form and formless realms, attending to the nature of emptiness, thereby remembering and attending, is recollecting the view, as it is said, is to establish various gradual practices, etc. If other sutras say that two classes of gods should be remembered, namely the Tushita Heaven and the Pure Abode Heaven, how should this be understood? This is spoken with regard to unmixed individuals, therefore there is no fault. Knowing all dharmas to be of the nature of emptiness,
