Explanation of the Utterly Pure Explanation of the Utterly Pure Now, the Utterly Pure will be explained. Briefly, its causes are said to be of three kinds, and the opposing causes are said to be of four kinds, as follows: Relying on the Buddha and giving, etc., Whatever is skillful in means, These and others are the causes. The causes of being deprived of Dharma are: Being oppressed by the density of demons, Not having faith in the profound Dharma, Manifest attachment to the aggregates, etc., Being completely seized by sinful companions. Thus it is said. Among these, relying on the Buddha is as follows: Shariputra, the great Bodhisattva, having attended upon countless, innumerable Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Complete Buddhas in the realms of the ten directions, came here, and so on. Accomplishing giving and other perfections, such as: This great Bodhisattva practiced the perfection of giving for countless, immeasurable, and inconceivable eons, and so on. Skillful means is: Beginning with "Subhuti, this should be distinguished and prophesied," up to "Skillful means is the cause of joining with the Perfection of Wisdom." The actions that are in accordance with the causes of being deprived of Dharma are: Subhuti, again, any son or daughter of good family of the Bodhisattva Vehicle, who cultivates the Perfection of Wisdom, and also those who cultivate it with a focus, and so on, intensely, without interruption, and for a long time, ripening on one's own great body, the obscurations of painful actions are shown to be near. Among these, intense is due to excess. Uninterrupted is due to constancy. Painful is due to disharmony. Its manifestation is for the sake of turning sentient beings away from it. Furthermore, the cause of this karmic obscuration is made into four kinds of empowerment: the blessing of demons, and not...

Attachment and manifest clinging to aggregates, etc., and being completely controlled by evil friends are its causes. Thus it is said. The three causes for attaining extreme purity and the opposite causes have been explained. From these, for the time being, the general meaning of purity will be stated, and then the meaning of the distinctions will be explained. The general meaning of purity is as follows: The purity of the result is form, etc., the very nature of purity, for what reason? Those two are not different, and because they are indivisible, they are called pure. Thus it is said, "Subhuti, whatever is the purity of form, that is the very nature of the purity of the result," from the fact that those two cannot be made into two, are without difference, and are indivisible, etc., as it is said. Among these, whatever is the purity of form, that is the very nature of the purity of the result, which refers to the fruit of the ascetic of whoever is a noble being, because it is separated from manifest clinging to form, etc., as self, etc., it is the very nature of being extremely separated. The nature of being non-dual and not to be made into two, among which, the meaning of non-duality is because the grasper and the grasped are non-dual. The so-called not to be made into two is because the subtle intention is the very nature of not being able to be made into two. Because of being without difference and indivisible. Difference is said to be the variety of characteristics. Division is said to be the separation of individual parts into separate limbs. Having thus explained the general meaning of purity, the distinctions are then stated: Afflictions and knowable obscurations, due to the decline of the three, the purity of disciples, solitary realizers, and the sons of the Buddhas, the Buddhas are all extremely pure. Thus it is said. Among these, the purification of the afflictive obscurations of the Hearers is: the purification of desire, hatred, and ignorance, and the purification of form, etc., these are without difference and indivisible because they are of a nature that is non-dual and cannot be made into two. Similarly, the purification of self, sentient beings, and life, etc., and the purification of form, etc., as it is said. The purification of one aspect of the obscuration of knowledge of the Solitary Realizers is, Subhuti, furthermore,

Whatever is pure in form is pure in result. Whatever is pure in result is pure in the perfection of wisdom, and so forth. Because ignorance is pure, actions are pure, and so forth. The path of the three vehicles of Bodhisattvas is pure: Subhuti, moreover, because the perfection of generosity is pure, the perfection of discipline, and so forth. The Dharma of the Buddhas is pure, and the omniscience itself is pure, these two are not different, and so forth. The utterly pure is that of the perfectly complete Buddha, in that, the limit is a part. That is of two kinds: the limit of things and the limit of time. In that, because of abandoning the obscurations of knowledge, therefore transcending the limit of things, and because of constantly attaining the Dharmakaya, therefore it is transcending the limit of time. By the name of transcending the limit and extremely exceeding the limit. Transcending the limit is said to be in the Dharmadhatu, because it exists in that, it is extreme. That also, the nine grounds included by the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm, in those, each with the antidote of the nine kinds such as the great of the great of discrimination, the path of cultivation is divided into nine kinds such as the small of the small. Because of that, because of cultivating as it is and as many as there are, in the path of cultivation also, the cause of non-action, for the meaning of showing closely, therefore it is said to be extreme. Like this, in the nine grounds, it is great. Of the defilements such as the great. The antidote is small of the small and so forth. The path is pure. Thus it is said, in that, the aspect of the path small of the small is: Subhuti, moreover, whatever is pure in the perfection of wisdom, that is pure in form. Whatever is pure in form, that is, and so forth, up to the purity of omniscience itself, and likewise, whatever is pure in the perfection of meditation, that is, and so forth. The middle of the small is: Subhuti, whatever is pure in the emptiness of the inner, that is
