Explanation of the Proof of Definite Arising Explanation of the Proof of Definite Arising When explaining the proof of definite arising, it begins with the definite arising of what should be done, and extends to the definite arising of the path, resulting in eight aspects. Therefore, it is said: What should be done and equality, the benefit of sentient beings and effortlessness, the definite arising that transcends limits, the definite arising of the nature of attainment, the nature of all-knowingness, and the object of the definite arising path. These eight aspects are called the proof of definite arising. It is said. Among these, the definite arising of what should be done is threefold: the definite arising of excellence, the definite arising of abandonment, and the definite arising of realization. Why is it taught with the definite arising of excellence as the main focus? Because, like this, starting from "this and that," sentient beings are adorned with great armor, which signifies the greatness of the proof of armor; entering the Great Vehicle and abiding in the Great Vehicle signifies the greatness of the proof of entering; why is it said to be adorned with great armor, which signifies the greatness of the proof of accumulation. These three greatnesses are this and that, therefore, it is reasonable to start from the proof of definite arising. World Honored One, the so-called Great Vehicle, Great Vehicle, means arising by overwhelming the world including gods, humans, and asuras. The Elder Subhuti explained the proof of definite arising, and to this explanation, Subhuti, this is the Great Vehicle of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, therefore, from the six perfections, the doors of dharani, the doors of samadhi, all emptiness, up to the aspects of enlightenment, and even the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, all are like what should be done, it is the Great Vehicle of definite arising. Having promised this, he began to say, Subhuti, you have said that the Great Vehicle can overwhelm the world including gods, humans, and asuras and arise.

Saying "transformation" means: If Subhuti, the desire realm is just like that, not mistaken is just like that, not other is just like that, not inverted, that is the truth, that is correct, as it is, constant, stable, firm, and the nature of immutable Dharma. If it is not that there is no thing, then this Mahayana will also overwhelm the world including gods, humans, and asuras, and there will be no transformation. Therefore, taking both the object and the objectifier as the main focus, the first, fourth, and seventh sentences are. The definite indication of the first and second sentences are two words, and then again, taking those three words themselves as the main focus, there are three words. Thus, it should be known that the nature of non-transformation, which is definitely produced from the equality of those objects and so on, is the eleventh word. Because Subhuti, the so-called "desire realm" is caused by the unreal pervasive ignorance. The so-called "fabrication" is caused by the actions that become its cause. The so-called "instruction" is produced by the power of craving, grasping, and existence, therefore this Mahayana will overwhelm the world including gods, humans, and asuras, and there will definitely be transformation. What does this mean? Mahayana has the result of truly realizing the meaning that is merely famous in the world, because attachment to it is bondage. Otherwise, practicing Mahayana as an antidote would become meaningless. Similarly, the form realm and the formless realm, as well as the aggregates and so on, and the Dharma realm, the Dharma realm, all the true limits, from the Paramitas and so on, up to the eighteen unshared Buddha Dharmas, the spoken prohibition of things and non-things, is the definite arising of Mahayana, and it should also be promised in the future. What is said with the definite arising of abandonment as the main focus is the Dharma of the lineage ground, and the Dharma of the eighth ground, up to all the Buddha Dharmas.

The space between the earth, and from the status of a person of lineage to the status of a perfectly enlightened Buddha, and the worldly objects including gods, humans, and asuras, should be combined as before. To show the definitive arising of contemplation, from the moment of first generating the mind, until dwelling under the Bodhi tree, all the Bodhicitta that arises is like ink, and the vajra-like wisdom is also as before, having abandoned all the afflictions that connect with habitual patterns, and having attained omniscience, this is the definitive arising of the Great Vehicle, and the thirty-two marks of a great person are also as before, the world including gods, humans, and asuras is beautiful, overwhelmed by the splendor and glory of the Buddha, and the light of the Tathagata, Arhat, perfectly enlightened Buddha is also as before, the Buddha fills the world with his own light as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, and the voice endowed with sixty branches is also as before, the Buddha makes the immeasurable and countless worlds in each of the ten directions understand with his voice. Among them, the voice endowed with sixty branches is the voice of the Buddha. What are these? For example, to show the roots of virtue of the sentient beings' realm, it is a friend. To touch happiness in the visible Dharma nature, it is peaceful. For the sake of good meaning, it is pleasing. For the sake of beautiful words, it is agreeable. To be obtained from the unsurpassed state beyond the world, it is pure. To be free from all the habitual patterns and latent habitual patterns of afflictions, it is immaculate. To completely count words and letters, it is completely clear. To have the power and qualities to destroy all the views of evil-minded heretics, it is melodious and pleasant. To have the definitive arising of practice, it is worthy of being heard. To not be defeated by all other opponents, it is firm. To make everyone happy, it is pleasant. To be the antidote to desire and so on, it is subdued.
