Differences arise in having both depth and breadth. Otherwise, it must be said that there is a difference in the two truths themselves. This is well said, because as far as the ultimate truth itself is concerned, no difference whatsoever arises, but it is the conventional truth that becomes deep and broad. Why is there a difference in the conventional truth, but that is not evident in the ultimate truth? How does mere convention become vast? Here, the ultimate truth as established by the Madhyamikas is necessarily liberated from the four extremes of existence and non-existence, both existence and non-existence, and neither existence nor non-existence, and is beyond the realm of those who have extinguished the characteristics of elaboration. If the ultimate truth is established in a way other than this, then it will necessarily fall into the four extremes of existence and so on. Whatever is neither the four extremes nor the truth established by the Madhyamikas will never be attained. If one of the four extremes is fully understood as the ultimate truth, then only the Yogācāras will be able to completely reverse it with little effort. Therefore, there is no second different ultimate truth other than the ultimate truth established by the Blessed One and Nāgārjuna and others. What is said to be vast only in terms of convention is said here: The object of focus is completely pure, By the power of friends and conduct, The Vehicle of the wise Is proclaimed as the greatest of the great. The meaning of this is that the objects of focus, as they appear, are manifestly realized as the nature of completely pure deities, therefore the object of focus is vast. The vows relied upon by the Buddhas of the three times are kept as desired, and the blessings that arise from this are called vast friends. Just as the Buddhas and the lords of the ten bhūmis act for the benefit of beings and bless pure lands, so too is the conduct that arises from this vast. These are different from the Madhyamikas, so they simply do not have vastness. Therefore, it is established only through convention.

is a distinction. Aren't those vast aspects establishing the vehicles as equal to the Buddha? If so, then the ultimate truth would be no different from the conventional truth, because everything abides in the result. If you say that, it is true, but nevertheless, just as the ultimate truth does not allow for perfect accomplishment and so on, this is not conventional either, because as long as the ultimate truth is realized, one must strive and practice especially. If so, then the Madhyamikas are also like that, how can it be said that this is profound and vast? No, because the Madhyamikas are devoid of vastness, and it takes three countless eons to attain the result, and so are the Yogacharas. Similarly, the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas also take four countless eons to obtain their own supreme result, while those who ride the supreme vehicle attain non-abiding Nirvana in a short time, therefore it has a great difference. Even so, this is no different from the ultimate truth, just as the Bodhisattva Maitreya, who has perfectly accomplished the ultimate truth, matures beings with unobstructed conduct, such as playing in the retinue of consorts, and does not bind himself, so those who abide in this vehicle also perfect the accumulations by practicing various despised behaviors such as equally applying skillful means and wisdom. This is a wonderful skillful means, for those who are particularly attached and arrogant, and those who have not practiced the Shravaka and Pratyekabuddha vehicles and have no opportunity for liberation, by showing behaviors with attachment and so on, their minds are completely delighted, gradually accumulating merit, and when their mindstream becomes like refined gold, they will realize the conduct free from attachment, the completion stage, and the state of being completely free from elaboration. Therefore, this supreme vehicle is what all beings should ride, and it is pleasing to the noble ones. Therefore, in the yoga tantras such as the Moon Secret Bindu, not eating

There is no taboo whatsoever, there is no deed that cannot be done whatsoever, everything is enjoyed through the mind of skillful means and wisdom, without any doubt. Such extensive teachings depend on two kinds of meanings: some who have abandoned other vehicles are spoken to merely to subdue their pride, like escaping from a burning house; and others who have long cultivated the stages of completion, who are not robbed by desire and so on, like a lotus in the mud, are spoken to based solely on them. Otherwise, if ordinary things like desire and so on could not bind, then all beings would go to the state of liberation, and there would be no falling from vows either, and by that, even the lower realms would be completely cut off and liberated. Therefore, even those who have great faith in emptiness must necessarily experience the results of desire and so on. Even in deity yoga, what need is there to mention desire and so on when they obstruct seeing things as they truly are? Therefore, in the great yoga tantra called "The Ornament of the Vajra Mandala," the conventional truth is established in many ways, and it is said again: On the side of non-existence itself, the results of actions and so on, are experienced like a dream, this occurs manifestly. Thus, until the vast ultimate truth is realized, it is said that one should abide with respect in the conventional truth. If someone says that this is not pure even in the conventional, then reason is manifestly given, and this supreme vehicle that abides in the two truths, can be attained if one abides in the proper way. Thus and so on, the tantras would become meaningless, because at that time one would only abide in the ultimate truth. Furthermore, Just as hearing the saying "a poisonous mantra does not increase plague," or merely knowing that poison does not harm grasping and knowing it, cannot pacify great poisons, but only an accomplished person can pacify them. Similarly, merely hearing about the purity of that alone, and grasping the path that shows how to transform into it, and those who possess purity
