Explanation of the Four Doors of Mantra Meaning Explanation of the Four Doors of Mantra Meaning Explanation of Mantra Meaning by Thoroughly Dispersing Letters In Sanskrit: Śrī yamāntaka vajra prabheda nāma mūla mantrārtha. (Named "Glorious Vajra Thoroughly Differentiating the Meaning of the Root Mantra of Yamāntaka") Homage to Glorious Mañjughoṣa! What is the secret mantra of the wrathful Mañjuśrī? It is hidden in all other tantras, Has not occurred and will not occur in the future, Like the ocean, vastness, and vajra. Difficult to fathom, difficult to surpass, indivisible, Like a guide, the sun, essence extraction, Guiding, eliminating, purifying all. Like the city of gandharvas and the Buddhas, The doors and blessings are limitless. Like the lineage of sky-goers, Only by the distinction of birth, The distinctions of lineage are fourfold. Within those distinctions, Like twenty-one thousand, etc., Limitless explanations, just as, The root essence, etc., Any secret mantra of one lineage, By the gathering and dispersing of letters, And likewise, thorough dispersion, Separating the limbs individually, Know the four doors of mantra meaning. Each of those mantra meanings, By the name of category as "door," The doors become limitless, Is known by Mañjuśrī, who has no intellectual obscurations, If the śrāvakas do not know, What need is there to mention worldly people? Thus, the mantra meanings are limitless, The blessings are inconceivable, But the Great Sage, the Powerful One, For whose sake and what is done, Like the introduction, making intention, Whoever does it that way, For them, that accomplishment, Is said to be quickly achieved by its nature. Therefore, in the teachings of the Victorious Ones, The supreme wrathful one who tames the maras Is Yamāntaka, For accomplishing all actions, The best of the wheel practices, Among mantras, it is the root, It is the wrathful one who pleases, And accomplishes according to his command. The secret mantra has thirty-two letters, Also known as seventeen and five. These explain the method of thorough dispersion. (Ya) The king of wrathful ones, Yamāntaka, The vajra heart of all Buddhas, The wisdom that is utterly unmoving, The grasped The grasping consciousness is pure. ཀྵེ། (Śe) In the pure realm, The body is made of two supreme accumulations.

Being supremely manifest, it makes manifest, body and abode are pure in form. Ma, like the great earth is the source of treasures, because it becomes an inexhaustible treasure of qualities, it is called the source of jewels, all enjoyments and feelings are pure. Me, like Mount Sumeru, the teachings, having attained the unshakable supreme Dharma, shows the immeasurable light of Dharma, all terms and concepts are pure. Da, giving and sweet speech, etc., the characteristic of acting for the benefit of beings, is the accomplishment of the deeds of the Sugatas, it is the nature of the purity of formations. All the Buddhas arising in the three times, mind and so on are the nature of Dharma, therefore, Akshobhya Vajra, etc., are considered as the five Buddhas. Ya, that which abandons the grasped and the grasper, wisdom has reached the ultimate of duality, the mindfulness that abandons inferior views, invites all the Sugatas. ཙྪ, the wisdom that is free from discrimination, is the ultimate of prajna. The diligence of truly abandoning, makes the Buddhas also engage in the benefit of sentient beings. Ni, definitive words are infinite, it brings forth the end of the lotus that is free from words. Miraculous powers and samadhi are unshakable, the Buddhas also bind to the benefit of sentient beings. Ra, free from dust, non-conceptual, wisdom brings forth the end of obstacles, if faith, etc., are under control, the Buddhas also make sentient beings free. The nature of the limbs of enlightenment, is the gate of the city of liberation, the wisdom that abandons obscurations, is said to be the wrathful gatekeeper. ཛཱ, the place of emptiness that holds beings and objects of knowledge, is the nature of great love. Because pure seeing is the object of practice, it is called the Buddha-eye. Sa, that which gathers all sentient beings, the water element moistened by compassion. When acting as the master of sentient beings, it is the supreme mother of the Buddhas, Mamaki. Do, the fire of wisdom that removes faults, is the nature of great joy, because all defilements are completely pure, it is considered as the white-clad mother. Ru, without anger and attachment, it is the wind of equanimity and detachment. It is the means of liberating beings from their abodes, it is called Tara. Emptiness and compassion, wisdom and means, etc., because the Buddhas arise from the object of practice, it is established as the mother for the sake of protecting beings. Nam, the form adorned in various ways, is the mudra of
