First, an explanation of the discernment of the mandala teaching. First, an explanation of the discernment of the mandala teaching. In Sanskrit: Vajra Bhairava Tantra Panjika Ratnamala Nama. In Tibetan: Called "The Precious Garland, a Commentary on the Vajrabhairava Tantra." Homage to glorious Vajrabhairava! With emptiness and compassion inseparable, Dispelling the fears of sentient beings, The glorious and powerful Vajrabhairava, To that Wrathful King, I pay homage with reverence. Its seven chapters, the supreme meaning, For the sake of yogis in degenerate times, To benefit beings with ease and joy, Are clearly explained in the Precious Garland. All tantras are taught with the five perfections, without doubt. This comes from the eighteen thousand tantras of Manjushri and is blessed by the Vajra Dakinis. The meaning is that the teacher, the great Vajradhara, resides in the Dharmadhatu of Vajravarahi, and it should be understood that the Dharma was spoken to the four Maras and others, and compiled by Vajrapani. Here, the word "then" means immediately after, after explaining what has gone before, and the incomplete Dharma, teaching the seven chapters. It should be understood that this means subsequently teaching and invoking the auspicious and incomplete. When connecting the texts, the first chapter is for the purpose of showing that the meaning of the tantra should be accomplished. Then, the correct explanation is given. This means that after the previous one, the correct, excellent, supreme, and common meanings are without error. The seventh chapter, approaching and accomplishing the mandala, the illusion wheel, meditation, recitation, and fire offering, etc., are complete and without error, and are clearly explained in an easy and accessible way for practitioners, so the promise is made to "explain." Vajra indicates the Dharmakaya, emptiness, and wisdom, while Bhairava indicates the Rupakaya, compassion, and the accomplishment of methods. "Method" means the result. This text shows the yogi the method of accomplishment. "Accomplishment" means that by that method, the benefit of oneself and others is accomplished. "The deities" means that Vajrabhairava, with the deities and fierce forces, causes fear and fierceness in all beings, including Brahma. This is because emptiness and compassion accomplish the Dharmakaya and Rupa as the result.

That body, for those sentient beings with malicious minds, does not benefit with compassion, therefore Vajradhara subdues them with fear. The body is extremely terrifying, with head, hands, marks, ornaments, clothes, seat, and sunlight as fierce as the fire of the end of time, the unparalleled great wrathful one, driven by compassion. As it is said, 'In sickness, it is cool like snow, outwardly it protects beings with fierceness.' The Bhagavan Vajradhara is practiced with this tantra that is the result, therefore it is the path of practice. Yogis need accomplishment, therefore it is necessary. That is also the two perfections of the meaning of nature, namely the perfection of abandonment, abandoning all afflictions and obscurations of knowledge. That is also the perfection of attainment attained from attainment, namely attaining enlightenment from manifest enlightenment. That necessity is also the method of practice arising from the expedient tantra. The necessity of that necessity is the perfection of benefiting others, namely benefiting those who harm the teachings, such as demons, heretics, nagas, yakshas, fierce ones, candalis, terrifying fierce ones, etc., and those who harm sentient beings and gurus, by practicing with this tantra. Yogis practice and attain the benefit of self and others, and the meaning of what is said and what can be said are interconnected, arising from this, and showing the essential unity. The 'that' in it refers to wanting the meaning of what is said, etc. The so-called 'first' refers to before starting to practice that necessity. The so-called 'mantrika' refers to what is spoken by a yogi who has received empowerment and is knowledgeable in the recitation of mantras and mandalas, etc. The so-called 'pleasing' refers to dwelling in a pleasing place that is in accordance with the mind, such as a charnel ground. Also, it should be known to dwell in a place with friends and resources. The so-called necessity refers to the benefit of self and others. The so-called freedom, etc., refers to pacifying, increasing, subjugating, and wrathful actions, etc. Practicing mandalas, magic wheels, meditation, recitation, and fire offerings, etc. The so-called charnel ground refers to the place of killing, the place where corpses are transported. The so-called 'water surface' refers to a river or lake, where male and female yakshas and male and female nagas are practiced.
