Chapter Three: Explaining the Expansion of Karma Chapter Three: Explaining the Expansion of Karma Those great mandalas should not be drawn without making supplications. Why is that? Because accomplishments depend on the lama, and those accomplishments are attained through supplication, and for the sake of future beings learning good fortune. One should supplicate the Tathagata, and that should be preceded by praise. Therefore, it is then stated, "Having praised with this king of praises praised by all the Bhagavan Tathagatas." What is meant by supplication? How should one supplicate those supreme lords? "Oṃ Vajra-jihva-saṃyoga, Vajra-dhara-sarva-toṣaṇa, Sarva-buddha-pari-pūrṇa-saṃsthita, Jñāna-dhātu-svabhāva. Ākarṣaṇa ca sthāpana ca, Bandhana ca tathā-svādhīnatā, Mudgara-ādi-catur-mantraiḥ, Samāhita-kṛtvā-bhāvanam." Thus it is said. Mentioning the Lord of Death is merely an example, fear refers to enemies. The mandala is what is heard and held. The mandala is the lord of all mandalas because here the practitioner of empowerment has attained the wisdom of all mandalas. Destruction refers to making all sins such as killing cease. Protector refers to the Vajra Acharya who is non-different from the lord of the mandala. The mandala, as previously explained, should be drawn, this is the concluding word. Then the great yoga is extensively taught, which is the practice of tasting nectar and attracting and dwelling. Then, from the body, speech, and mind of the Bhagavan Great Vajradhara himself, the ritual of tasting nectar must be extracted. "Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ. Through the union of the vajra tongue, all vajra-holders are pleased, all perfect Buddhas abide. The very nature of the source of wisdom. Attraction and abiding, binding and likewise self-mastery. With the four mantras beginning with the hammer, having placed equally, contemplate." Thus it is said. Then, the Bhagavan Vajra is the nature of the five wisdoms, that is, the five Tathagatas. It is the holder of the self-nature of those. Great refers to the bodhicitta vajra. From the body, speech, and mind vajras of oneself, nectar refers to all dharmas being
