Chapter One: Explaining the Meaning of Empowering the Mandala of Samadhi of All Tathagatas. Chapter One: Explaining the Meaning of Empowering the Mandala of Samadhi of All Tathagatas. In Sanskrit: Tantraraja Sri Guhyasamaja Tika. (The Explanation of the Glorious Guhyasamaja, King of Tantras). Homage to the Vajra of the Essence Bodhicitta. Lord of all without exception, endowed with body, speech, and mind, With the assembly of goddesses in great bliss, I constantly pay homage with faith. Those who possess pure reasoning and have faith in the Guhyasamaja, Now on the path of faith, the Sugata speaks of the root. Relying on that, the secrets of the Protector's body, speech, and mind, for the sake of being realized by yogis, shall be explained without error. This is taught with five perfections at the beginning and end. What are the five? They are the teacher, the compilation, the place, the retinue, and the perfection of the tantra. Among these, the teacher is manifested as the Blessed One. "Thus have I heard at one time" indicates the compilation. The place is from "of all the Tathagatas" to "resides on a lotus." From "unutterable, again unutterable" to "appearing as filled" indicates the retinue. Furthermore, "at that time, thus" indicates the perfection of the tantra. Why is that? Because by saying "thus," the meaning of the tantra that will arise from below is guided to the perfection of the beginning and end. "I" means not like a transmission from others, because the one who has directly realized enlightenment as Vajra Dharma does not combine hearing from others. Therefore, from "at that time, thus" to "manifestly praised" indicates manifestly hearing. That is not holding onto only "I," why is that? Because of the fault of not conforming to the words arising from the place, such as "unutterable." Hearing is in the aspect of speech appearing as sound. Here, others refute, having directly realized enlightenment, being of a nature of non-duality, spoken by the Blessed One.
