Chapter Seventeen. Explaining the King of Blessings, the Vajra of Vows and Samayas of All Tathagatas. Chapter Seventeen. Explaining the King of Blessings, the Vajra of Vows and Samayas of All Tathagatas. This praise taught in Chapter Seventeen should also be universally applied in mandalas or meditative contemplations. Now, the nature of this is that the Bhagavan Great Vajradhara himself abides in the nature of the five families. And, it should be known that these families are praised through lineage, wisdom, nature, mudra, and people. Among them, "Emaho, of all Buddhas," etc., is to show that from the nature of complete purity of all dharmas, each vow is protected. Now, the body vow is: "With the ocean of Buddha wisdom, the four vows should be kept. Great meat should always be eaten." It is said. Now, the four vows are killing, taking what is not given, lying, and engaging in desire, these four. And, these should also be protected as according to the instructions. Similarly, it should also be applied to the following ones. These three are divided by food, namely, eating great meat, eating excrement and urine, and eating semen and blood, which is enjoying the five nectars in body, speech, and mind. These vows are what yogis should do when accomplishing the siddhis of body, speech, and mind. The vow of the Pratyekabuddha is: "They teach by the body." and so on. The Pratyekabuddha teaches the Dharma through the body, not through speech. Now, such a vow is the abiding of the body vajra, and thus leads sentient beings. These vows are also each of their own vows, and are as they are spoken. The teacher also teaches in accordance with those and accomplishes benefit, it should be generally known. The vow of the Shravaka is: "The ten virtuous dharmas, etc." and so on. Like this, the ten virtuous dharmas are practiced and cultivated, are not afflictive, abide in the ground of ignorance, abandon wisdom, do not believe in the profound practice of skillful means and wisdom, and are inferior beliefs. The vow of Brahma is the samadhi of meditation.

Because of dwelling in attachment, being separated from the wisdom of higher seeing, one engages in all sorts of paths of action of ignorance. Seeing the qualities of desire as enemies and thorns, one feels fear and disgust. Guiding with such means, one shows enlightenment, that is, such a Vajra body. Some say that mentioning Brahma is a synonym for the Vajra body. Like this, with the blessing of Vairocana's union, for those Shravakas who dwell in one place of peace, seeing samsara as enemies and thorns, encouraging them with the blessing of the Buddha, showing complete enlightenment, the following should also be applied in the same way. The straightforward vow is: all that dwells and arises in the body, speech, and mind of women in the three realms should be united as the nature of body, speech, and mind. Vishnu's vow is: liberating sentient beings as the nature of body, speech, and mind. In short, these three are the ways of benefiting beings through the gates of body, speech, and mind. The vow of Yakshas and Yakshinis is to delight in flesh and women. If this is practice or doing their work, it should be done in this way, and all the following should be applied in the same way. Teaching the vow of song says: Otherwise, it will surely turn into affliction. This means that if you do not act according to the vow, you cannot subdue, and everything should be applied in the same way. Wanting to benefit all sentient beings, all vows must be practiced. This means that as a method of guiding beings straightforwardly, the respective vows are indicated separately, meaning that these should be used to guide and subdue. Why is that? Because by nature they like these. Therefore it is said: By nature, everything arises, acting in various ways in the three realms. Now it shows that each of the vows of body, speech, and mind also has the distinction of body, speech, and mind. All three forms of the body should be like a Vajra. Like this, it is said and so on. For example, the three forms of the body's actions or nature are the nature of the three poisons. And this itself is the nature of body, speech, and mind, so it is the body, speech, and mind of the nature of the body. The same applies to speech and mind. Now it shows that the one who possesses the precepts of body, speech, and mind does not prostrate to anyone.
