A Brief Explanation of the Meaning of the Condensed Stages A Brief Explanation of the Meaning of the Condensed Stages In Sanskrit: Pañcakramasyārthayogimanoharāṭippaṇīnāma. In Tibetan: Called "The Delight of Yogis, a Brief Explanation of the Meaning of the Five Stages." Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! To the noble Nagarjuna, Who has attained the first ground, I prostrate. I shall make A brief explanation of the meaning Of the delightful yoga of stages. Examining the holy scriptures of the noble ones, That measure is the bre [a unit of volume]. This measure of my treatise May people always hold in their hearts. Here also, having taken all those verses that exist confusedly in the tantras such as the glorious Guhyasamaja, the glorious and venerable Nagarjuna, with the compassion and other-power of his mind, gazing upon the world of inferior intelligence, spoke thirty-two sutras in accordance with the order of the five stages. One who wishes to make the condensed stages, with homage as a preliminary, wishing to show the nature of the fruit to be expressed, speaks with "liberation from the conduct of the three realms" and so forth. The correct collection of the speech of the Buddhas and the worlds is the three worlds; the three worlds themselves are the three worlds, shu for one's own meaning. The three realms of desire, form, and formlessness. Here, whatever sentient beings' continuums are, clinging only to the nature of things, which is the stable and solid form in their five aggregates and so forth, is discrimination; that alone is the term for pervasive conduct. Liberation from that is the meaning of separation. If it is asked, is that the nature of pure knowledge? Because it is pure, it is said to be equal to space. That which has become equal to space is the wisdom. Although this is so, because all close objects are posited and there is no impediment, it is said that for those who have fallen into the abyss of the view of clinging to emptiness, in order to dispel that, emptiness is not other than things, nor is the existence of things existent, and because it is separated from being very much and not very much, the self-nature of all the meanings of words such as form is all things.
