And, the unclear and indistinct nature that appears in the shadow of a person, as well as the nature of the eye and the sky, and the nature of existence are all the same. Furthermore, Great Physician, how should one observe the form created by the initial death, given that you possess the nature of non-arising? This should be explained. For example, one should observe it like the shadow of a person appearing in water, but one should not observe it like the appearance that arises within it. Moreover, the image of the Great Physician with a head, hands, and feet is just like a person appearing in water. There is no coldness or warmth or bodily fatigue, etc., because there cannot be flesh and fish meat, etc., because the shadow cannot be completely destroyed by the elements. Therefore, the image of a person appearing in water will not utter sounds of happiness or sounds of suffering. Similarly, this consciousness also completely abandons the nature of the body of the initial death and becomes the form created by it. In this way, each ignorant being becomes the cause of the cycle of existence called the intermediate state. Those who have obtained the essential instructions of all the Tathagatas through the lineage of successive gurus, in this way, "Bless me," just as a painted image on a wall appears in a mirror, the very nature of the body of Vajrasattva emanates itself, possessing all kinds of excellence, never satisfied with looking at the body, adorned with the thirty-two major marks of a great person, etc., in short, up to being adorned with all the qualities of all the Buddhas. As the Bhagavan said in the Tantra of the Manifestation of Perfect Enlightenment of Vairochana: "The rainbow-like body and speech are obtained by meditating on it." The meaning here is this: The rainbow is the bow of the king of gods. And what is that? It is actually represented by five rays of light. Just as in the center of the sky, the distinctions of the five colors of the rainbow are completely clear, so too the body is similarly meant to represent. Therefore, the meaning of "rainbow-like bodies" is like that.
