The Fifteenth, The Ritual of the Vase Empowerment The Fifteenth, The Ritual of the Vase Empowerment Then, the deities who have descended bind a garland upon the head, and by reciting "Om Prati Grihna Swami Mam Satva Maha Bala," the garland bestows empowerment. Then, inquire as to what is seen with the eyes. If white is seen, then the supreme siddhi is accomplished. If yellow is seen, it is the wisdom of increase. If black is seen, it is the wisdom of manifest activity. If various colors are seen, it is any kind of siddhi. Then: Vajrasattva, today you, Strive diligently to open the eyes, The eye that opens all, The vajra eye is unsurpassed. Recite this mantra: Om Vajra Satva Samanta Chakshu Ddhatana Tatapara, Udaghataya Ti Sarva Sho Vajra Chakshu Anuttara. (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning) After reciting, remove the face covering. Then, beginning with Nodma and extending to the Great Vajradhara, show the deities. Then, the light of bodhicitta, in union with the mudra consort, like mustard seeds, invoke all the Tathagatas of the sky to descend. The immovable father and mother residing in the vase dissolve, and having become entirely water, bestow the water empowerment upon the crown of the head with this verse and mantra: From the three secrets' samaya arisen, The wisdom nectar, stainless, By the water of the gods purified, The empowerment of the immovable one. Om Vajra Adarsha Jnana Abhi Shincha. (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning) Similarly, the writer visualizes the headdress of the Shangpa lineage marked with a silk turban, visualizes Ratnasambhava father and mother, and as before, invokes all the Tathagatas residing in the expanse of the sky to descend, and bestows empowerment with the headdress that has been completely transformed. Thus it is said: The great sovereignty of all Buddhas, The supreme precious headdress, The most excellent of all jewels, Empowerment into complete enlightenment. Om Vajra Samanta Jnana Ratna Makuti Abhi Shincha. (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning) Visualizing Vajra Amitabha father and mother bestowing empowerment, as in the previous ritual, invoke the wisdom sattva to descend, and bestow empowerment with the vajra that has been completely transformed. Thus it is said: The vajra empowerment of all Buddhas, The indestructible vajra's clear light, The door through which the sacred Dharma arises is

Therefore, the Vajra Dharma empowerment. Thus it is said. The bell and vajra contemplate the meaning of accomplished father and mother in completeness, and perform the ritual of descending as before, and that which is complete is the vajra and bell. The vajra and bell are crossed, and the empowerment of the master is given. Thus it is said: One who possesses skillful means and wisdom, An unequaled performer of the welfare of beings, One who completes all the deeds of offering, The empowerment of the Vajra Karma. (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ཀྲི་ཏ་ཨ་ནུ་ཥྵཱ་ན་ཛྙཱ་ན་བཛྲ་བ་ཏེ་ཨ་བྷི་ཤི་ཉྩ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ वज्र कृत अनुषण ज्ञान वज्र वाते अभिषिञ्च, Sanskrit Romanization: om vajra krita anushana jnana vajra vate abhishinca, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, vajra, do, follow, wisdom, vajra, wind, empower.) Thus it is said. Then, as before, the form of the mirror descends the body of the Perfection of Wisdom, and that which is complete is made into a mirror. The form of the mirror is shown to the disciple, and it is said thus: That which is grasped and that which grasps are completely abandoned, Pure and clear and without stain, Like the image in the mirror, Know the form of your own deity. Thus it is said. Similarly, contemplate Vairochana Buddha father and mother on the crown of the head, and as before, the Tathagatas descend, and from that which is complete, from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet, pervade the body and dissolve, and name it from the part of the descending deity. The name is initially Dval and finally Vajra. After that, for the sake of granting, it is called by the syllable "Kyi". Thus it is said: By the empowerment of the Vajra name, Until the essence of enlightenment, In no way unknowable or unmoving, Therefore, it is renowned as the Vajra name. Thus it is said. Then, without the Vajra family's samaya, one is not a vessel for the empowerment of the master. Therefore, the samaya of the Vajra family's distinction is bestowed. The vajra, which is complete with Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ), is placed in the hand, and it is said thus: This itself is the Vajra that is held, The hero without beginning or end is, Vajrasattva, great joy, Samantabhadra, the master of all. The manner of Vajra pride, the master of the master. This is the Vajra samaya. Similarly, from Aḥ (Tibetan: ཨཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अः, Sanskrit Romanization: ah, Literal Chinese meaning: Ah) which is complete, the bell is given, and it is said thus: Hold that bell itself, This is of all the Buddhas, The following explanation of the sound of wisdom, You should
