This means to abandon (distinctions) for a long time. As it is said: Just as people commonly use food, just as they commonly see the sun, just as they commonly hear the wind, so should they abandon the ocean of deluded distinctions for a long time. Thus, through purified material food and the absence of distinctions about non-food, as stated by the characteristics that arise below, one should perform homa fire offerings. As it is said: The outer nectar is excellent food, like being cooked by a raging fire. Here, outer nectar refers to butter, honey, milk, sugarcane, and so on. Raging means entering. Cooked by fire means only external fire. The thought is this: Just as external fire ripens and produces fruits and so on, and molasses and so on, one gladly accepts them, desiring to manifest their pure essence more clearly. Here too, there is no contradiction in the noble ones gladly accepting feces and urine and so on, which have been ripened and produced by the fire of wisdom. For all things are sufficient through the single, undifferentiated nature alone. As it is said: Whoever sees the one reality, sees all realities. Whatever is the nature of all things, that is also the nature of the one thing. It is also said: Through the power of skillful means and wisdom, there is nothing that cannot be done. Simply clarifying the meaning of what was said, as it is said: The stomach and so on, the fire of wisdom. Here, stomach refers to the inside of the belly. The word 'and so on' refers to the sense organs such as the eyes. The fire of wisdom refers to the fire of the deities and so on. Burning means ripening. Feces and urine refer to excrement and so on. Thus, it will be said: Feces and urine and so on, which have been fully ripened by the fire of wisdom in the stomach and so on, become very special. Therefore, one should not think that feces and urine and so on are very contradictory to offering to the deities, for this is precisely for the sake of destroying the distinctions of impurity and so on. Just like illusion.
