The Ritual of Drawing the Line The Ritual of Drawing the Line Then, after the Vajra Master has completed everything, he recites the mantra of all actions, or the root mantra, until he desires, and lies down in the manner of a lion. Then, at dawn, he should ask about the dreams in which the signs were seen. Having heard of good or bad, he should speak without hesitation. Seeing the Buddha in a dream, and, seeing Buddha images and stupas, hearing the Dharma and its companions, seeing the monks and the Sangha, and, temples, Buddha's sons and daughters, and nuns, holding mountains, gardens and supports, rivers, lotuses, and gatherings of yogurt, praising mountain deer, kings, and Eṇeya. Wheel-marked, distinguished birds, constantly seeing entry into meditation in dreams, water and mountains abiding in goodness, distinguished abiding in space, thinking of the excellent, virtuous ones, and kings who are diligent, mantra practitioners, powerful, young, virtuous women, parents and gurus who have gone to the heavens, excellent goddesses and secret sacred objects, supreme accomplishments, those with qualities, and Brahmins, the great assembly of the mandala of the Victorious Ones, adorned with clothes and flowers in full bloom, performing fire offerings, and fruits and flowers, kings being enthroned and obtaining kingship, victory in battle and oneself killing thieves, liberation from sinking in the ocean, liberation from difficult and impassable places. Such dream signs are good, and those that do not conform to this are said to be bad. From good deeds, accomplishments are obtained, and from bad deeds, accomplishments are not obtained. Knowing this, the mantra practitioner, if he sees bad signs, should recite the mantra that destroys obstacles, and all dharmas are like dreams, and abiding by obtaining them as if in a dream, believing in this, and for the sake of accomplishment, meditating on bad dreams to pacify them. Then the yogi performs the three samadhis of Hevajra, especially for the sake of establishing the place and inviting the mandala of the deities, he focuses on the sky, and from a charnel ground or a place abandoned by those who possess vows, with white, yellow, red, green, and black powders, and powders of good smell and color mixed, he places them separately.
