Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Explaining the definition and classification, the consecration is taught by dividing the ritual into stages. First, the definition is Prakaśananādipratiṣṭhā, which means supreme abiding, hence called consecration. That which is supreme is long-lasting, and that which is supreme is special. That which is long-lasting is all that is supreme. That which is special is all supreme places, because it has been made into the nature of the wisdom being. Classification. Classification of the Base. There are two types of classification: classification of the base and classification of the ritual. There are three types of classification of the base: consecration as the nature of the body, consecration as the nature of speech, and consecration as the nature of mind. Consecration as the nature of the body refers to stupas, temples, stone pillars, trees, wells, springs, pavilions, horse stables, and wooden pillars. Consecration as the nature of speech refers to rosaries, mundane texts, and transcendental texts.
