In Tibetan: Called The Lamp Illuminating the Instructions on the Four Suchness. Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! The four secret suchnesses are realized by those who are devoted to the sphere that is not understood by the wise. The accomplishment of Hevajra is far off, like chasing after a body of smoke and a mirage. Therefore, the supreme instructions of the guru, the treatise of the Uḍḍiyāna Abbot. I will explain the essence of the four suchnesses to those of very inferior devotion. Here, one who wishes to attain the accomplishment of Hevajra through the treatise of the supreme guru, the Uḍḍiyāna Abbot, should practice by relying on the four suchnesses. I will explain them. Here, the four suchnesses are: the suchness of the form of the mudra, the suchness of the four abiding chakras, the suchness of the four joys of the arrangement of bodhicitta, and the fourth, the ultimate suchness. Here, the inferior suchness of the form of the mudra is: the main deity and the thirty-two of the retinue, and the three of the consort, making thirty-five. The inner sign is the outer, and the outer sign signifies the inner. That is, method and wisdom. Separating the right and left sides individually makes thirty-two wisdoms and methods. Here, wisdom makes one know, makes one realize, makes one signify, therefore, there are sixteen vidyās. Method is moved by compassion, brings forth, and therefore, there are sixteen benefits. Furthermore, in the eight skull cups on the left of the main deity are the object and the subject, that is, the abiding nature of phenomena and the sign of the clarity of wisdom. The abiding nature of phenomena is the skull cup. The sign of the clarity of wisdom is made clear and realized by the eight goddesses. What is it? It is what makes that object itself clear, therefore, it is what makes clear. Upon what does it rely to make clear? It relies upon the earth goddess. That is the mudra. It also has five aspects: samaya, wisdom, mantra, action, and mahamudra. Because one is always inseparable from these, it is a dhāraṇī. Therefore, the goddess is also the sign of that." } ] ============================================================

So. The vows of all Buddhas are fully established in the five mudras. As it is said in the tantra. Therefore, relying on the mudra of mantra, seeking the lost path, the mudra is Caṇḍālī. That is the fire god. What is completely accomplished by the fire god is the moving wind, and that is the wind god. By it being completely propelled, burning all the signs of existence, the nature of the moon melts. What is completely manifested after melting is the moon god. The body and mind moistened with compassion are the water god. When one is completely satisfied by water, the light of the warm sign becomes very clear, that is called the sun god. Like that, one will obtain what is needed. If obtained, the Lord of Death will hinder at the end. Liberate from that and rejoice. That reaches the ultimate, and the wealth of complete accomplishment of what is needed will be achieved. If one strives again and again, but cannot obtain what is desired, the upper door will not be accomplished, so one should practice the lower door. How should that be done? At the navel chakra, constantly descending, contemplate the saṃpuṭa accomplished by the moon and sun gods. In the center of that, place a very subtle bindu. That also, with the characteristics of letters, draw from the pores, and from the very subtle pores, in the manner of pores, give to the independent mother. Like that, the yogi knows the appearance of small and large, and knows to escape. Strive until what is desired is not obtained, what should be practiced is the work of the sun and moon. If that is not accomplished, similarly in the four places, as before, one should practice, that is, the moon and sun, etc. If that does not coincide with the wish, then one should practice the touch of the top, that is called the work of fire and water. If it is not possible to arise by such eight methods, then rely on oneself, because it is not obtained by the path of liberation, so it is the path of attachment, one should practice relying on others. Therefore, one should rely on the karma mudra. This is the work of the Lord of Death. Establish the vow on the mudra with measure, and practice that part of the nature that is non-discriminating with it, as it is said in the third empowerment, hair follicles grow on the feet.
