To say "I have qualities" when one has no qualities is called wrong pride. Ignorance is that which obscures knowledge, hence it is called ignorance. Or, not knowing the truth of suffering, etc., is called ignorance. These afflictions are said to separate beings from samsara. Or, the nature of body, speech, and mind causes affliction, hence it is called affliction. Then, the practice of yoga is spoken of. Now, the enlightenment of the practice of yoga is to be shown. In order to show it, by what are objects such as form grasped as being truly external? It is by grasping the teachings taught by the Tathagata according to his intention as truly real. That is not truly real because it has not been examined as one or many. If that is not truly real, then what is the definite aspect of objects and times, etc.? The answer to that is that because the habit of inverted conceptualization from beginningless time has not been abandoned, consciousness is grasped as being external. The meaning of that is what the Tathagata has said. How has he said it? In the Noble Buddha Avatamsaka Sutra, it is said: "O sons of the Victorious Ones, these three realms are only mind." Therefore, by meditating on mind-only, enlightenment will be attained. Consciousness is the nature of consciousness, therefore it is called true. The aspect of external objects is not the nature of consciousness, therefore it is called false. Because external reality is not true, therefore the five aggregates, which are the nature of suffering and origin, are also not true. The afflictions that produce them are also not true. By knowing this, one will be separated from the obscuration of afflictions. Because form and so on do not exist in reality, they are not to be grasped. Thus, by what knowledge will one be separated from the obscuration of knowledge? Being separated from these two is called Tathagata. This has shown the enlightenment of the practice of yoga. The enlightenment of the Middle Way is to be shown, and after that, the Middle Way is shown. This has been said. Regarding that, above it was said that consciousness is the nature of consciousness, therefore it is called true. Is that something that exists? Or is it something that does not exist? Is that the nature of existence?

Where is it? If it exists in the nature of multiplicity, If it exists in the nature of oneness, there is this flaw: for example, why do paintings and the like become different? Because of the reason for appearing as different, it is not one. If it is one, then the appearance of paintings and the like as different is false. Why is it false? Because it appears as diverse. The appearance of diversity is also due to various causes. There is no characteristic of oneness in it. What is called one is seeing various things in an instant, which is called one. Are that instant and the various things one? Are they different? If they are different, then you are right. If they are not different, then it is not true. That is not true, because the past and so on do not exist apart from it. Therefore, it is not one. Nor is it many, because the nature of one cannot be established by examination, so many are also not true. Because external phenomena cannot be established by the reasons of one and many. Likewise, there is no consciousness either. Then how does it exist? It exists like reflections in a mirror and so on. If it exists like that, then who will become a Buddha? The answer is, eliminating the discriminations of inner and outer, but the nature is not non-existent. What is the nature like? The nature is free from defilements. Furthermore, one cannot describe it in words to other worlds. That is, the emptiness of the nature of inner and outer phenomena, to hear, think, constantly remember, etc., free from elaboration, and to directly realize the subtle aspects of the nature, is called omniscience. Its meaning is stated in the Twenty-Five Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra: "Subhuti, with what does one become omniscient? What is its nature like? Who is its owner?" With what does one become omniscient, means that one becomes omniscient by possessing emptiness. What is its nature like, means the nature of peace. Who is its owner, means mindfulness. Having known all the tantric lineages. Here, mantra is the seed syllable. Then practice.

Therefore, the body of the deity will be perfected. That body speaks of the pure Dharma of the five aggregates, the eighteen realms, the twelve sources, and all the Tathagatas. Where is it spoken?
