And, the patience of knowing the Dharma accordingly on the path and the sixteen. In such a sequence, by meditating on the path of seeing, one will abandon the eighty-eight types, etc., of afflictions to be abandoned by seeing in the three realms. Among them, the twelve to be abandoned by seeing suffering are: the view of permanence, the view of self, the view of annihilation, the view of the aggregate of destruction, the view of holding moral discipline and asceticism as supreme, doubt, desire, hatred, pride, and ignorance. The seven to be abandoned by seeing the origin are: after abandoning the aforementioned view of permanence, the view of self, and the view of the aggregate of destruction, the remaining seven to be abandoned by seeing the origin. The ones to be abandoned by seeing cessation are also the same as this. The six to be abandoned by seeing the path are: desire, hatred, pride, ignorance, the view of holding moral discipline and asceticism as supreme, and doubt, these six. In the desire realm, after abandoning the thirty-two to be abandoned by seeing and the four to be abandoned by meditation, one will no longer be born in the desire realm. Doubt, desire, hatred, pride, and ignorance. Apart from these, for those born in the form realm, the thirty-one to be abandoned by seeing should also be abandoned. The formless realm is also the same as this. After abandoning the eighty-eight types, etc., to be abandoned by seeing, one is separated from the cause of being born in the three realms. Being separated from these is called being free from desire for the three realms. For this, they are called Hearer Buddhas and Solitary Realizer Buddhas. Because they are separated from afflictions, they will not be born in samsara. Therefore, they are called Nirvana. This is like a fire being extinguished. If one asks, what is the difference between Hearers and Solitary Realizers? Having heard from a Fully Enlightened Buddha, Hearers can also become Fully Enlightened Buddhas. They teach the Dharma through these means, taming sentient beings. Because they are urged by others to listen, they are called Hearers. Solitary Realizer Buddhas are those who, having previously received and heard themselves, do not rely on the instructions of others, but understand enlightenment themselves, so they are called Solitary Realizer Buddhas.

Abandoning speech, one establishes sentient beings in the ten virtues through the body. Its meaning is that one understands by relying on the oral instructions of others, and one becomes enlightened oneself, so its wisdom is truly profound. Therefore, it is called a Pratyekabuddha. To perceive the five aggregates, which are without self, as self and belonging to self is called the view of permanence. To perceive things like the aggregates, which are without self, as self, and to perceive them as permanent, is called the view of self. Not harming others is called discipline. Dwelling in places where dogs sleep, roads where many cows trample, and places where wild animals dwell, and so on. Furthermore, lying on ashes, shaving hair, going to bathe in places where sages have bathed, eating fruits and roots, keeping matted hair, wearing tree bark, and so on, are called ascetic practices. Acting in this way is called holding discipline and asceticism as supreme. Having doubt about truth and jewels is called hesitation. Attachment to the three realms is called desire. Generating hatred towards sentient or non-sentient beings is called hatred. Pride is the characteristic of an arrogant mind. It has seven types: pride, great pride, pride of pride, conceit, inferior pride, and false pride. Great pride refers to being superior in lineage, having a beautiful form, wealth, learning, and so on. Because these are superior to others, it is called great pride. Pride of pride refers to the pride of thinking that one is superior to others even though one has the same conditions as the aforementioned. Conceit refers to thinking that one is superior in form, learning, wealth, and discipline even though one is of the same lineage. Inferior pride refers to thinking that one has a view of self while others do not, or saying that one knows the Dharma that transcends the world while others do not. Inferior pride refers to thinking that one is slightly inferior in lineage and so on. Qualities
