Seventh, Chapter on Symbols. Seventh, Chapter on Symbols. Now, the chapter on "Tschoma" is being spoken. First, through the symbols of letters, one should understand the dharma of things, such as places and gathering circles. Among sentient beings without vows, one should not speak with a yogi or yogini using "Tschoma," that is, other secret languages, this is the definitive statement of all tantras. Because one finger is shown, and with two fingers it means "good, come." Know that this is the mudra of illness, when the left thumb is bent, if the ring finger is shown, then give the little finger. If the middle finger is shown, then give the finger in the same direction. And so on, these are the symbols of limbs, one should understand these sequences, and distinguish between those with vows and those without, through mudras and the answers to mudras. This is the meaning of being upright. Now, the definitive meaning is to be clarified, as it is also said in the Glorious Vajra Nectar: One should examine the yoga mudra. The hand mudra is not stable, the true essence of the mudra is, as the supreme consort of the deity, to offer to the lotus of bhaga All the pleasures of the senses, through the union of vajra and lotus, all actions will be accomplished. Just like a great wish-fulfilling tree, with hundreds and thousands of branches, there, one must grasp its root, that is the cause of growth. Likewise, the root from which nectar flows, is the mother of mantras and mudras, the place where all mudras arise, resides in the center of bhaga It is also said: All skandhas, ayatanas, and dhatus, are sealed with mudras, with that mudra one continuously arranges, this is shown as the mandala. It is also said in the Glorious Gathering: If you want supreme bodhi, do not bind hand mudras. This vow, with all mantras, and even the Buddhas will not transgress. Therefore, when it is said not to bind mudras, the vajra binding, this is the definitive statement of the Bhagavan. The meaning of this is: It is said in the Glorious All Secrets, without pride, without appearance, without characteristics, and not a manifestor, selflessness, equality, wisdom, this is said to be the vajra binding. Similarly, when only one mudra is shown, one should also use a mudra as an answer.

So it is. Therefore, being devoid of power, one should not respond to the mudras. After prostrating to these, placing the palm of the left hand on the heart, one should circumambulate one's body to the left, and then bow with the left hand and depart, and one should not argue with them. Whatever certainty is given to the child yogis, they should act accordingly. Otherwise, death will be obtained, for the wrathful messenger woman is endowed with power. O Blessed One, where are those places and so forth? The supreme places and so forth are the places and so forth such as Jālandhara and so forth. The definitive meaning of this is stated in another tantra: "The supreme place is said to be wisdom, the self-place is method. These two are inseparable, and are established as the yoga place. That very place is born from that, whoever becomes separated from that, co-arising is truly taught, the realm of practice beyond the path of speech." Thus it is said. In the glorious Adi-Buddha also it is said: "The place is well transformed into the secret lotus of women, the vow is the vajra itself, the near place. Field and Candoha and assembly, charnel ground, ground, likewise, all are thus." Thus and so forth. It is also said: Here, commonly, for the sake of children wandering in the land, places and so forth such as Jālandhara and so forth are spoken of. It does not become pervasive in all of that itself, for the thirty-six families of yoginis also dwell in one city. Why is it said here in the supreme Adi-Buddha, it is because it pervades all places. Here, in the glorious Chakrasamvara, what is said as places and near places and so forth, those in the glorious Hevajra are said to be crowded and confused in fields and near fields and so forth. The worldly siddhis of the yogis also do not become like the external places and so forth. Internally, the cessation of the twelve limbs such as ignorance should be realized in the places and so forth by the cessation of old age and death and so forth. Thus it is also said: "Abiding on the path of all renunciation, surely showing all renunciation, the twelve limbs uproot the root of existence, possessing twelve kinds of purity." Thus it is said. Places and so
